Senator Barack Obama was nominated by the Democratic Party to be it's Nominee for the Presidency last night. (Tonight is the acceptance speech by that Nominee.)
I cried last night when Sen. Obama secured the nomination. I cried when Sen. Hillary Clinton was the voice that asked the Convention to nominate Sen. Obama by acclimation. There was a time when I never thought this would happen, not in my lifetime. I still tear up when I think of what this all means. I am humbled beyond words at all the things that have happened.
Just read this thread for a second and pause, just for a few seconds, to marvel at all this. There are those who spent lifetimes working for the goal of making this happen, of having serious contenders for the Presidency be an African-American and a woman.

As Teddy Kennedy once said, "The dream will never die." Hey you wild-eyed bunch of dreamers, remember to celebrate this moment. WE, all of us who dreamed of this, have earned this. Savor it, all of it. This is something really, really, really special.
Proud to be a Democrat today!
