Sen. Kerry might be on the floor later on today
Sen. Dodd was just reading off a list of Senators who want to speak on the Fiscal Stabilization bill today.

Sen. Kerry was on the list. (Sometime between 3:45 -5 pm, best guess. EST, of coure.)

6. Just heard Sen. Coburn...
...on the floor discussing where to place the blame for this. I know all are trying to pass a bill first to 'stop the bleeding'...which I understand. But...as quickly as humanly possible after that...Democrats had better hit back on this.

I love the Dems for always doing what's right first...for the people. But the general public (like me) are hearing this blame game already...and the Republicans are louder on it than we are. They are placing blame with both parties, and using the 'few bad apples' excuse used in the Abu Ghraib torture excuse.

I hope Senator Kerry uses the lesson of the 2004 Swiftboat smears. I hope he goes to the Senate floor, makes the case for the legislation, and places the blame squarely where it belongs...on Bush policies. And I hope he will promise that Democrats are going to hold those responsible to account.

7. Interesting that Coburn would blame the Democrats after they whined
that the House republicans had their feelings hurt by Pelosi. I doubt Kerry will go after Bush - now. It's really not the time when he is trying to get people on board. But, later .... yeah, especially because he was ahead of the curve speaking on the danger of foreclosures and he tried to get help in the stimulus package - which ultimately was passed 6 or 7 months later in the banking bill. That and the fact that he addressed the need to regulate credit card and mortgage markets better. This, sadly is another Kerry was right.

He does get both of those points out in his interview yesterday. You are right that the Republicans have done better getting McCain's co-sponsorship of a bill that already dead for 10 months

8. I doubt it, too. And I understand the...
...reasoning. It's just very divisive to do so, and divisiveness doesn't promote the consensus needed to pass a bill.

But, as to placing blame, the Republicans are not holding back. Americans are trying to understand this, looking for answers as to why we are in this mess, and only hearing a Republican answer to their questions. That's the WRONG answer, in my opinion. But I'm afraid it could be the one people latch on to...unless our Democrats spell out our truth.
