Kerry schedules visit Saturday to Utica farm

UTICA -- Licking County Democrats will be host to U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Saturday at the Utica-area farm home of Gene Branstool, a former Democratic state senator.

Democrats will greet Kerry from 1 to 3 p.m., after his graduation address at Kenyon College in Gambier.

Senator Kerry will meet informally with area elected and party leaders 1 to 2 p.m. in the Branstool home. A town forum discussion is planned for 2 to 3 p.m. The senator has a Saturday evening address in Toledo.

The Branstool home, 6360 Johnstown-Utica Road NE (U.S. 62), also was the site of the first Ohio campaign stop by the Clinton-Gore campaign.

2. He's so into young people and they love him.

If you've ever seen him with the Kids for Kerry (now the Kids for Democracy), it is something to behold. He's like a total Rock Star to them. He treats them with such respect and they idolize him.

College students are what, 98% for Kerry? I'm just guessing, but it sure seems that way. They mob him.

He's my Prez too. Can't wait till it's official!
