Hawaii Pictures II
More pics from my trip.

(these are my grandparents. It was their fiftieth anniversary---and their first time in the ocean.)

2. What a place to experience
the ocean for the first time and a great capture of the moment by you. I hope they loved it.

3. OMG... that first one
Tell me you went on a little "shoppin' trip" with that one. If not I'm on the phone to my sister. Regardless.... quite beautiful.

5. Well...sort of...
I just chose a less natural white balance setting. That and the other pic of the moonrise (in the first thread, I think) were taken at the same time, I just processed them differently.

4. Clearly, carrying a camera helped you "be there" and appreciate
the beauty around you. As CC noted, they are all great, but this set, all 10, is truly wonderful. The others also, but this bunch appeals most to me. Each one shows the viewer a little bit of how it feels to have been in that moment, and I thank you for sharing it with us.

6. Thanks.
I was glad that I did some planning before I went---I usually just bring my camera and the kit lens when I go somewhere, but this time I brought my camera, the kit lens, a telephoto lens, my macro, a polarizing filter, and my tripod. And I bought a waterproof case for my mom's camera (it was way cheaper than a case for my camera would have been---and, in case something went wrong, her camera would be a lot cheaper to replace).

I'm most happy about the polarizing filter---it made the waves, water, sky, and clouds look spectacular. The tripod also made sunset pictures workable without using a high ISO and getting a bunch of noise in the shadows.

I was also glad that I shot everything in RAW. When I first loaded the pictures onto the computer, a lot of the bright spots (waves, clouds, etc.) looked blown out. But it was easy to get the detail back in the RAW editor.
