water, boats, windows, old crumbling buildings around the waterfront
Edited on Thu May-05-05 12:56 PM by Malva Zebrina

This is a wooden lobster boat--
not like the fancy fiberglass ones you see almost always.
I am willing to bet the fisherman built this boat himself.

What weird little window people. I wonder if they come alive after dark.

This is what has happened to the Gamage boat yard-
-shipbuilders-- many a schooner was built here
and it was famous at one time.
Pete Seeger's sloop, "Clearwater" was built here.

Pilings with lobster traps and it's reflection.
Don't look too far into the reflection or you will
go underground, or underwater.

1. All great......
My fave is "Window People". Would be a great entry if the May Theme is "windows".

2. Those are cool...
I love docks and wharves, marinas, etc. Were the window people inside the window or a reflection from something else?

4. It looks to me like they are sculptures
and someone set them on the sill. It is up on the second story with the window on the other side of the building providing the blue backdrop. The building was closed up--maybe it is a summer person's studio

3. Very nice work... from what I can see of the lobster boat
in the first pic, it is most likely a commercially-made boat called a BayStater, very popular in that trade up until the 60's or so
