Some of what I have shot this fall (mostly ducks)
Edited on Thu Dec-18-08 06:59 AM by Maestro
In my portfolio, ducks were sorely lacking which is a shame because ducks can have some quite impressive plumage so I tried to concentrate on them in October and November.

Hooded mergansers

Funny headshake here with its mate

Canvasbacks

Canvasback and lesser scaup

American Wigeon (I have more of these that I need to process)

Northern Pintails

I even found some Canada Geese, which I know are very common, but I usually do not find them wintering in small ponds. I found some near where I work so I took a bunch of pics of them. Here are two.

I have more to share that I will do later so as not to overwhelm this thread and those on dial-up.

4. I wish.
It's ironically a very urban environment. It's located in Irving, Texas. It's a small, narrow pond in the Las Colinas are of Irving near where the Dallas Cowboys used to play football (two games are left at the old stadium). It's good for photography because unless the ducks fly away they really can't escape too far. ;)

5. Dear Mr. Vice-President...
For the fullest effect of your "duck shoot" photos, you should have included one image where you accidentally "shot" one of your friends in the face.

7. I've shot many of my friends in the face, but
it didn't require a trip to the ER.

6. There is soooo many Canadian geese here in CO........
there are fields full of them, If I had a good camera I would take a picture. Anyways those are some great pics, I like the first 2, that's a very unique looking duck, I've never seen one of those before.
