3. It all looks so medieval.
I'd love to say to someone one day, "Come meet me in my chambers." Seriously, if anyone has a house with a chamber it is no longer a house, but a mansion!

4. hahaha, yup, that'd be cool...
Guess word was he ran around buying up 5-600+ year old crumbling churches and whatnot in Europe having gone on extended visits with his Mom as a kid. So he was greatly effected, but seemed to have that uber-rich guy thing going on cause some of his letters *to* his Mom were flavored with 'I just gotta have it and its only $8,000' sorts of considerations. Allot of the ceilings and stuff were 'fit' into place which meant sections were just cut away  He had a great, one of a kind architect in: http://www.juliamorgan.org/story.shtml">Julia Morgan but, well, she worked for & with him to create this thing we see today so there's that...I do like her design work - very cool

5. I felt like I was taken on a journey. Very very nice. Was going to say:
"Please invite me over" then read the comments and learned it's not your home.
Shame.
