We're back.

12:45 a.m., and I'm really tired, but at least we made it home between eruptions. I'll try to get a few pictures posted for you all tomorrow - at least some of the ones I took on the way up to Nome from the airplane. Flying over the mountains and the Yukon River and tributaries was absolutely breathtaking.

I don't know how many thousands of pictures I took, but I've got to get them all sorted and up on the website before I got to California next month for the new grandbaby. My work is cut out for me.

I'm so glad to be home.

it back home safe and sound. Flying over mountains in Alaska - you are blessed.

Can't wait to see your pictures, but I suspect it'll be a daunting task to sort through and post. But we are the lucky ones to see the end result.

3. My plan

is to post a few here daily as I go through the files on my Picture Porter. Then when I've got the final galleries up on my SmugMug site, I'll let you know. I have so many pictures, I'm dividing them up into the start/restart, the finish, and then one gallery devoted just to Nome since I took a lot of pictures around town, sunsets, etc., that aren't directly related to the Iditarod. We really had a fantastic time - everybody up there was great, locals and fans. It really was an "adventure."
