A Little Pond Hockey Anyone?
Received my new lens in the mail today (nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR) and rushed out to get some pictures before I had to start dinner. What better place than the local lake!

This is a pretty rare site around here, usually it's either too warm for the lake to freeze completely or if it is frozen it's covered with snow. Well, thanks to the cold weather and the 3 VERY windy days late last month we've got HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!! GO PENS! :)

These were taken last weekend at my parents home in Maine.

1. Pond Hockey!!
Never played it, never seen it, but now I want to. Seriously, this looks like so much fun. And that hat? It looks like a court jester. I am so glad you documented this for us. Leave it to the kids to make the most of whatever materializes in the way of weather conditions.

Nice of your parents to feed the birds. I have now learned how to take bird pictures. Wait for the snow and ice, and then feed them. Good catch in the last picture.

Enjoy the new lens.

2. How fabulous! You burst on the scene with awesome photos.
I'm writing down what that lens is (I'm an amateur here, and eventually I'll need to have one of those :))
Really nice depiction of what looks like an all around great adventure.

Thank you, and welcome!

3. Nice lens
and you are putting it to excellent use already. I especially like the first one where you've captured that moment of intense focus just before the puck is in play.
