The ransom note and the year book - Ramsey
There have been some threads comparing writing from the ransom note and a yearbook entry by John Karr.

Here is the main one:

I don't think it is the same. But here are some examples of the ransom note and Patsy Ramsey's handwriting.

Patsy's handwriting

Check out the "y" in each. I see some similarities

This is taken from this site:

Here is the yearbook entry:

And here is part of the ransom note:

What do you all think?

1. I agree, johnnie

that Karr's handwriting looks nothing like that on the note. I posted on that same thread right after you did, though I didn't see your post because it took me so long to put my post on. I was trying to make a link to the image but couldn't figure out how to. I will go ahead and post the image here, and if the margins blow, I'll do what I did in that post.

Here's a comparison of Patsy's printing to the printing on the note. (The police had her write what the note said so they could compare the sample to the note.)

Edit: Good. The image didn't post, just a hyperlink.

The one I posted is the first one in the second row. (Click to enlarge it.)

I used to have an official document with Gideon Epstein's analysis of Patsy's handwriting compared to the note. Until he retired in 2000, Epstein was director of the forensics unit of the documents lab at the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

from a 2003 Crime Magazine article by Ryan Ross:

http://www.crimemagazine.com/solvingjbr-main.htm

"What is your degree of certainty as you sit here today," Ramsey attorney Wood asked Epstein in a deposition last year, "that Patsy Ramsey wrote the note?"

"I am absolutely certain she wrote the note," Epstein replied.

"Is that 60 percent certainty?" Wood asked.

"No, that's 100 percent certainty."

~~

If I can find the document, I'll post a link to it. It sold me completely on Patsy having written the note.

4. Great!
I will study it tomorrow. I know many people think it is weird to think about this, but it is a true crime fan that does this sort of stuff. That's why I am glad that XanaDUer got this forum going. I wish it would get more active. I'll check this out tomorrow.
