Let me be the first to offer my condolences to the Cheese.
Sorry, Rev. There is no joy in Cheeseville.

It's only football, after all, right?

Yeah, that's what I keep telling myself, too.

Oh well. We all know who's going to win the Super Bowl. I just hope the Giants make it a contest. Otherwise it'll be too painful for this old Browns fan to see Bill ("Bernie Kosar Has Diminishing Skills") Belichick in the winner's circle again.

We'll just have to hang in there and wait for Keith to bring us a brand shiny-new season.

1. You beat me to it.
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 10:24 PM by CC
Though I did not watch most of the game (my little corner of the world was on Home Makeover Extreme Addition so watched it) I was rooting for the Packers.

Edited to add- Pitchers and catchers report in 25 days!

2. You just spoke music to Keith's ears.
Only the poor boy is caught up in an election season.

I have a feeling he isn't going to care who the hell wins the primaries in Ohio, Texas, Vermont or Mississippi, or the Democratic Wyoming caucuses for that matter. But one thing's for sure, he'll sure be glad for the settle-down until late April.

while the baseball is on a feed into the other ear. He is smart enough to multi task.

11. Why do I get the feeling it's going to be more the reverse
He'll be at spring training in Tampa with an XM Radio tuned to the POTUS 08 channel feeding results into his ear?

The hardest part of the year for him will be July and August. Things will really be heating up in both arenas, and he will be A Man Torn Asunder like he's never been before. I mean, he's covered presidential races before, but never before has he been as ubiquitous on MSNBC along with Tweety. Tweety reigned as King of MSNBC Political Coverage in 2004. Not gonna happen this year.

He's just lucky that the election is November 4 and that the latest the baseball season can extend this year is October 30 for the latest possible World Series game. That is, of course, assuming no postponements or cancellations due to inclement weather.

Let's hope that doesn't happen. Can you imagine poor Keith...being forced to work election night...on the same night as Game Seven of the Series? Worst of all, imagine Game Seven being a Yankees home game...

"Good evening, everyone, I'm Chris Matthews, and welcome to the big finale of everything we've been working toward the past four years, Election Night 2008. Normally, my colleague Keith Olbermann would be here at the desk with me, but in a very strange development, he seems to have disappeared at some time this afternoon. Fortunately, more than two dozen of New York's finest have been sent to the Bronx to search every inch of Yankee Stadium until they find him..."

5. Thanks, CC.
The cats knew it was a rotten game, because they all disappeared during the second half. Of course, hearing Mom scream at the TV had NOTHING to do with it...

Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 11:11 PM by CC
two evils if I want to root for someone in the Superbowl. Think I may just tune into the Puppybowl instead. lol

Watched them build a kick-ass house and barn tonight though. Have to say the poor Luther mom would of been happier with about 1/4 of the house they built though.

Edit- Oh pictures are up now. http://abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/index?pn=photos#t=33171 It is the Luther family. About 5 miles from my house.

4. I keep telling myself that Brett lost on purpose...
so he has an excuse to come back next year.

I can't believe McCarthy didn't have them practice outdoors this week. They looked sloppy and frozen. And tossing around a frozen football is a very lame substitute for the real thing.

Thanks, Berry.

Bottom Line the Giants out played the Pack on both sides of the ball.

Training camp starts in July.

12. Maybe that was it.
Someone should tell him it's OK to win one, really. Kinda like I keep telling the Indians. It's OK, honest. We won't get complacent and cocky. We promise.

Yeah, they should've practiced outdoors. What advantage does a Green Bay team have if they're not ready for the frozen tundra? They're supposed to intimidate other people coming into their house, not vice versa.

I feel for ya, kid.

15. I was thinking the same thing, Rev.
I cleaned my room for most of the game so I didn't get a chance to see the whole thing. When I saw the score this morning on the news, I was very disappointed. Well, I lost that bet. I was telling my friends that it's gonna be Green Bay and New England at the Big Dance, so at least I got one right.

At least Brett will be back next season (I hope), so he'll have another shot at getting another ring.

13. Oh man, did you HAVE to show me this picture?
You're lucky I ate breakfast a while ago, that's all I can say.

You could not have made me more depressed by showing a picture of Mr. Kosar shaking hands with Hitler or Satan.

Great God, and where is his other hand reaching to on Ken Blackwell's body?

Oh please, take me back to the good old days. Belichick appears to have been right about something. Only it wasn't about Bernie's physical abilities, it was his BRAIN.

(muttering to self) I DO believe in Brady Quinn, I DO believe in Brady Quinn, oh I do, I really do...
