that helps a lot of people but needs to be made better. Nothing is not something, and I still don't see how this hurts more people than the situation does now. I believe that there are people whose lives will be better for the bill. Everyone? Of course not. The demographic that means most to (fill in the blank), I don't know. Something is still something.

Also, if the Dems pass something, then Dems (hopefully progressive ones) get elected and the needed changes would become easier. I still don't understand what the impetus to vote in more Dems would be if nothing passed and Obama looked very, very weak in 2012.

I am extremely disappointed in the Senate, don't get me wrong, but I don't know that this passing would be terrible.

No, I'm not going to be one of those DU idiots who equates criticizing this bill or Obama with aiding and abetting the election of President Palin in 2012. Just questioning.

(As I explained to the Rev the other night, there will never be a President Palin and all the fuss expended over worrying about her becoming the Republican nominee in 2012 is utterly wasted. I don't know why on earth so many DU'ers assume she will be their choice. She's doing the exact opposite of anything she would ever need to do to make it onto a major-party ticket ever again. So I don't know who the hell they're going to throw up there, but Palin is definitely NOT going to be it.)

I'm disappointed but frankly we always knew it would be like this. There's a reason they compare managing the Senate to herding cats. I would prefer single payer, but frankly I'd also prefer to be able to buy a home on my income and neither is happening and bitching won't make it so.
