4. I am doing well
Happy to hear KKKarl's still under the microscope. He's very brown this evening.

Don't you wanna know who the other source is? I'm just flying through the popcorn waiting.

How are feeling Jim? How's the bodyguard? I hope you have a bodyguard.

Please let Fitz still be looking at ways to indict KKKarl. This would be the BEST CHANUKAH EVER!

12. Broder yesterday on MTP also said:
MR. DAVID BRODER: It's possible, Tim, but they won't get there by arguing about who did what three years ago. And this whole debate about whether there was just a mistake or misrepresentation or so on is, I think, from the public point of view largely irrelevant. The public's moved past that. The public wants to know what we're going to do next in Iraq.

(emphasis mine)

If you ask me: Dave, NOT TRUE! Tim, you should have said something here.

Gergen was saying that Fitz was angry because of all the stone-walling going on in this investigation.

Woodward illustrates once again how people withheld information.

61. Yes, the food in France is superb.
Every neighborhood has wonderful little restaurants and bakeries. When we stay there, we walk to the local bakery each morning and buy a fresh baguette.

I discovered the strangest thing recently- Shoppers Food Warehouse- a utilitarian grocery store where you bag your own groceries here- is selling these baguettes called "artisan" breads. It is the closest thing to French bread I have had in the states! Go figure......

After five days off, I think I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow. Saw my daughter off this afternoon, back to Flalala. She should be back in a month or two, though. She's coming home for six months or a year to get her act together and then go back to DC.

We're getting married Jan. 7, but we're not going on the honeymoon until April or May when it's warmer - but still when my kid's in school so my Mom won't have to watch him 24/7.

I've been to England, but never France or Ireland. :)

"Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will present evidence to a second grand jury this week in his two year-old investigation into the outing of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson that could lead to a criminal indictment being handed up against Karl Rove, President Bush’s deputy chief of staff, attorneys close to the investigation say."

51. Sadly, Ann Coulter was Friday's WPITW
Who will it be tonight? It'll be hard to beat. Fer sure.

55. I was so bummed I missed Friday
I thought for sure he wouldn't be on and we went to see Capote with friends. I would have taped the show.

I also saw Harry Potter and Rent this weekend. Each of them was great in its own way.

59. Home from dinner out too late for most of the show
but I did catch that. Here's the transcript:

"But the winner, Ann Coulter, speaking of sucking the coins out of the slot machine. Explaining to her readers, well, reader, that Saddam Hussein was working with al Qaeda and trying to buy uranium from Niger because she says so. She‘s also now accused all Democrats of longing “to see U.S. troops shot.”

So if you had November 25th as your pick in the pool for the exact day Ann Coulter could no longer be successfully defended at a sanity hearing, you‘re the winner. Ann Coulter, today‘s worst person in the world!"

Picture was her with an eyepatch.

I need to see Potter, and I'd love to see Capote. This weekend's crazy with visitors, but I hope to see them ASAP.

60. Pubs close at 11?
Well I have to admit I can kind of see their point. I mean, jeez, even our bars close at 2 AM. What's the point of binging up by then? You're too tired! :P

64. There was this footage from a street camera
of these ridiculously drunk people walking out on the streets and falling down, running into lightpoles, you name it. To force every drunk out of every bar at the same time? Insane.

69. Well, we do the same thing, it's just way later.
All of the bars here close at 2. But we don't have much public transport here either so you'd better start sobering up at 12 or 1 otherwise you'll be up for a DUI! I wonder if that factors in too.

My new drink: I discovered absinthe in France. I only wanted to try it cause we can't buy it here. But it's really kind of cool; a very interesting effect from your standard garden variety alcohol.

70. So exotic
How does it make you feel?

At 11 p.m., no one's ready to leave the bar. By 2 a.m., most people have found a bed to hit somewhere.

72. Drunk and very alert and clearheaded.

There's sort of that warm fuzzy semi-anesthetized relaxed feeling that you get with alcohol, but instead of the usual accompanying remote "I don't give a shit" feeling, I feel sort of perky and awake and very plugged in. I can see why artists like it. Two shots, and I'm ready to go to work on something. At least that's my take.

But if you don't like licorice, forget it! It's so licorice-y it makes your lips and tongue numb! :P

edited to add -- yes, 11, is way too early, but by 2, even the die-hard partiers are getting tired! :D

77. Not a fan of licorice, no.
But for this, I'd hold my nose and go for it. :)

76. Ooooh, absinthe.
Maybe I'll mail order some if Rove is indicted.

87. "very interesting effect from your standard garden variety alcohol"
you mean, blowing you into the middle of next week?

I wish people started sobering up around 12 or 1 with the 2am closing time in mind. As it is, I try not to be on the roads between 2 and 3am because I don't want to be out there with the drunks.

71. Well, not all that much to say tonight really
except that Keith was fun to watch and full of sports news and looks really happy to be back with Dan. Today's radio show was pretty serious with all the Irvin business. I expect they will have funnier shows in the future.
