It's a good thing it's Friday, because this week at work was long enough, and I'm sitting in my house and chatting with all of you.

:toast:

LOL. These JibJab guys not only look exactly alike, but they have the same voice.

5. Hi, Pats
I just watched my tape of last night's show. Glad I taped it -- it was great. I loved when he called the four Vikings the foreplayers (at least that's how I figured he meant it, knowing him).

And Michigan's own John Dingell was great.

93. It's not hard for me to pay for radio at all.
I got XM in part so I could listen to Keith on Dan's show (which isn't carried on radio anywhere around here). Great investment. Now that Keith's on five days a week I can listen to and record him every day. When he's not on, I enjoy the many other channels. I don't listen to just three or four--I'd say I listen pretty regularly to the decades channels (but mostly 60s, 70s and 80s) and the soul channel, and some of the holiday channels right now--but also alternative stuff and channels that mix up the music styles a bit, and occasionally the Broadway or classical channels. I listen to Dan and Keith on ESPN Radio and sometimes to Keith on the midnight rerun of Countdown (yes, they have an MSNBC channel, which Sirius doesn't). There's other good news (although a bit too much Fox for my liking), major league baseball (which is why you'd think Keith would get it), good comedy channels and all kinds of Canadian stuff since they expanded into Canada.

And I don't have to hear the same 20 songs beloved by teenagers over and over.

I never want to listen to terrestrial radio again! Clear Channel stinks!

100. Clear Channel stinks, is right.
I've listened to streaming ESPN radio. I listen to very little radio. Neil Rogers, a local talk show host here, in the morning if I'm late to work and during lunch. Maybe Ed or Randi on the way home until I just want to play a CD. I don't know. I have digital cable and a bazillion movie channels. I swear I spend more time flipping between the channels than I do actually watching anything. I can imagine I'd have the same problem and never be sure what I want to listen to. :)

between a bunch of those.

Of course, sometimes there's nothing in the world like your favorite CDs.

97. i love my sirius sat rad
even though aar left them in the dust (ptooey to them, especially after dumping marc maron  ), i can get sirius left which has some good shows (but also some crappy ones--alex bennett, lynn samuels). if i'm in the car when one of those shows is on, i just flip it over to channel 2 & listen to holiday music, or find something else to listen to.

i doubt i'll listen to howard stern, but hey, you never know....

119. Exactimundo! Keith being on Dan's show was 80% of the reason I bought XM.
And now that I can hear MSNBC on XM, I get the fun of listening to Keith do ads for them that they run during their Countdown broadcast. "It's radio to the power of X!"

I love my CDs, and I loved putting my favorite songs on my iPod, but you know what? I don't own all my favorite songs or all the songs I might just like to hear once in a while without having to purchase every one. XM lets me listen to them without having to own them all. Even better, it introduces me to stuff I've never heard before, which is something your CD collection will never do. It will never show you what you MIGHT like if only you had a chance to hear it. Oh, and XM gets Air America too.

I can see where people might figure they have a million TV channels so do they want a radio with hundreds? As for me, I keep my TV viewing down (I pay only for cable at a tier high enough to get me stuff like MSNBC--no pay movie channels) and listen a lot to my XM radio. And before that, I had stopped listening to terrestrial radio at all, because it bored me to tears.

Thanks for the hotwire posting, I will look at it. Most modern hotels have handicapped rooms and I'm not THAT far gone, my main concern is the bathroom.

When I get my XM up and running I'll have the best of both worlds. I get the Sirius radio music channels on Dish and, you're right, I've heard many new songs that have become favorites. I especially like Jaggar's "My Sweet Neocon" and "Through These Cold Fingers" by an artist I can't remember now.

Special Guest Star Alberto Gonsalez as the Doomsday Machine. Cameo by Dick Cheney.

(a) we need to get a padded floor. i'm worried that berry will get a concussion from hitting the hard wood so much.

(b) berry, you need to practice your swooning so that when it actually occurs, you land in a more, um, ladylike position.

That way, I'm not a danger to myself and others.

As for landing in a ladylike position...well, wasn't that a ladylike position? I mean, with a landing like that, how can anyone NOT tell that I'm a lady, as opposed to a gentleman?

123. You realize, don't you, that the solution is simple?
We pack the clubhouse with Bay Air rugs. LIVING Bay Air rugs... we just let them in to frolick, or just hibernate in the room in front of the fireplace. When Berry goes "swoon", we push a sleeping Bay Aire beneath her, and she cushions her fall.

It's a practical idea. The Bay Airs can blog the show when we're busy:

They can fetch ice for the bar:

They can tuck us in when we fall asleep:

They'll eat up the leftover holiday candy:

They can help with the cooking, and do the dishes:

And, of course, they can frolick on the clubhouse trampoline:

and make sure we get our exercise, too:
