3. Hi all!
Ha!
I've said all day long that that al-Libby (Liddy?) guy was NOT ALIVE. He looks dead, dead, daay-ud.

And Keith asks the question! :bounce:
And the reporter he asks says he THINKS he is - or he HOPES so, but nothing definitive!

Keith, :yourock:

64. A certain sibling told me he sang the Libby's song!
I HAVE to tape the opening of tonight's show! I missed the first 6 minutes or so thanks to a certain sister of mine talking me into joining her at Ye Olde Sushi Bar after work, and staying so long while guys tried to pick her up that I got back here late. But another has told me about the Libby's singing.

Dancing, too?

I MUST tape!!!!

and I didn't see any dancing either, you guys! For heaven's sakes it was an Iraq standup!!

Still...who else would've had the guts to quote the commercial at all under such circumstances?

"If it says Al-Libbi, Libbi, Libbi on the label, label, label, the President likes it, likes it, likes it on his table, table, table."

Too funny!

77. Blueboy and Tigger were both strays that I found
Edited on Wed May-04-05 08:44 PM by Greylyn58
they started hanging around the duplex my family was living in at the time. Tigger was this skinny 3 month old that I started feeding. MY folks said don't feed her, she'll stay. Well I kept feeding her on the sly and my folks warmed up to her. Blue must have belonged to someone at one time because he had been de-clawed and fixed. He and Tigger loved each other as you can see from the picture.

I got Fritzie from my ex-husband's uncle before we were married, when she was about 7wks old. She was the runt and fit in the palm of my hand...really tiny. She was 9 years old when I brought Sheridan home as a bouncing 12 wk old that was about 5 times her size. When he tried to get friendly with her, she smacked him. He yelped and peed on the carpet, but as you can see in the pic things changed over time. :)

83. Yup, now Sheridan only interrupts you in the middle of Countdown to go out
. . . And the story of the kitties proves love overcomes early adversity.

My neigbor has a golden retreiver who'd been abused and had a lot of psychological problems when first adopted - but he's the sweetest, friendliest thing now, though a bit shy. She says she'll always have to be careful around him, but he has done remarkably well and plays nicely w/ other dogs.

Maybe it's a byproduct of not being able to tolerate gluten. Cheese, after all, is gluten-free.

57. What I can't believe is how long this non-story is being allowed to
dominate the news headlines in this country. When distractions are too thin, they have to designate something random the "Headline Du Jour" and off go the talking heads.

I also have my suspicions about that dead-looking third-in-command - I suspect a freezer full of Quaeda-cicles, or Quaeda-looking-cicles, so that one can be produced as evidence of progress when the heat gets high over the murderous Iraq debacle.

Hi bleev and everyone!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100587.html/?nav=pq

He still points out that Keith led with the story last night regardless.

Sheesh, wonder what he thinks of him mentioning the wedding invites on Ebay tonight.

Really, if anything, KO deserves credit for being one of the few news sources who didn't go berserk embarrassingly overboard on this story. At least when he has covered it, he's tried to find a new angle. At the same time, you get the feeling he too is wondering, why the big deal over this woman. And he hasn't let it deter him from covering more important stuff--like the lack of popular support for the war.

Tough kids, sissy kids,
Even kids with chickenpox
Love hot dogs, Armour Hot Dogs,

38. Everyone seems to have forgotten about the Evil Keith Drawing Contest!
Come on, people!

The idea is to draw a picture of "Evil Keith" a la the Loonatic versions of the Loony Tunes and post it to the show blog. Prizes (of a sort) will be awarded!

Original deadline was tonight, but it looks as if the contest will have to be extended to Friday because no one is RESPONDING...and the Lounge doesn't give a care! (Please! Those people post 400 new threads with 300 replies a day! And the contest got not ONE! Of course, by tonight it was already bumped to page 12!!)

Come on people! Whether you do it by hand or by computer, "draw" am Evil Keith and post it here Friday night! If you don't, well...I'll just cry, is all!!

39. I didn't forget - I just haven't had time
I had another good interview today.

Unfortunately, any second interview for this job and the one I interviewed for on Monday will be at least two weeks away. :eyes: I DO have a second interview for the third in the morning.

Geesch... why does it take an act of Congress for folks to MOVE on a job?

Worse comes to worse, there is a company I can work for that hires tons of people (probably due to turnover, even though the pay is pretty good for this area). The problem is that the hours are second shift. However, when Ramzey gets out of school on May 24, that won't matter and will give me mornings to continue to interview for jobs I actually WANT to do.

35. Hubby's been putzhing around with it for weeks now
As soon as he thinks it's working okay, something else seems to go wrong. It can be fine for a while and then it just gets hung up and you have to reboot. He just can't seem to pin it down. It worked better before we got DSL!

Students were wandering around with their pillow and blanket tucked under their arms. It was so strange. There were flooded out classroms -- but by gosh there were FINALS!

74. OK, Keef pissed me off tonight
What was up with that remark about how the only thing in this for Paula Abdul is "a 43-year-old woman looking like she's still viable on the dating market"????

EXCUSE ME??????

You mean, Mr. Olbermann, you don't consider a 43-year-old woman viable on the dating market?

Come over here for your spanking NOW!!!!

(And believe me, I'll enjoy every minute of it)

Oh, and get a load of that last redeeming remark before the paper-wad pitches...where (after having said he lived in LA back when Paula was a Laker Girl and "I didn't care who she was sleeping with back then"), he took pains to clarify..."Oh, by the way, NOT ME..."

OK, you're forgiven. Slightly.

But don't you dare snark on 43-year-old women again!

85. Seems our Keefster has a thing or two to learn about women
and honestly, I don't mean to put the man down one iota, but something tells me that young ladies in their 20s aren't falling all over him when he goes out of an evening himself. Unless it's for his money, that is. (Perhaps this explains a lot.)

I think it takes a woman of a certain age to appreciate a guy like our Keith. And that woman ain't your average 21-year-old Barbie. She's more interested in getting to know the guy further down the bar who looks like Brad Pitt. That's what she's into.

75. Yes, now that you mention it, WG, I think you may be right about that
I like to see images that make you imagine things and ask questions, that imply the world is more than it first appears.

In paintings, I don't enjoy doing still lifes, but I really enjoy - again - images that imply something and make you wonder. I don't like images that foster despair, but rather all the various kinds of positive senses.

I'm gong to bed early tonight, so I'll say good night now -
take care and have a pleasant sleep.

125. Technically, it wasn't a dance -
at least, I didn't see his feet moving around.

Keith is really having a blast, isn't he?

or at least wait until he offers to show you the TIE (that binds).

I'll pack the pink furry handcuffs, just in case.

Heaven knows what TSA will think. :P

True story: EVERY time I have packed -- um -- interesting stuff in my bags... they get searched. I think the TSA people are just snoopy.

144. Abrams wardrobe check!
Edited on Thu May-05-05 12:06 AM by crispini
Not bad at all tonight! In fact, I can't find anything too horrible to say. That tie is actually not bad.

Except he's looking a little orange there tonight. Easy on the foundation, makeup department!

And the hair.... the hair is doing something odd there too.

Keep trying, Dan! There's definite improvement!

154. Sometimes I do wonder.
The marked decrease in pimpadelia in the Abrams wardrobe does certainly give one food for thought. Coincidence? Inquiring minds want to know. :7

This Jim Moret tie, OTOH, is truly horrible. He looks like he's being strangled by a florescent candycane. :puke:

150. Hey, Pats -
Don't forget to leave the key under the rock in the garden. We need your place for Cinco de Mayo tomorrow night.

And don't worry about the mess - if Sparky can't make it, we'll put Grovelbot to work. :) (have a great trip!)
