One year ago today my Dad told me he'd see me in the morning.
I held him just shortly after midnight after he shot himself. It's been a horrible year, today is almost as bad as the night it happened. I miss him so much. If anyone reads this, could you send up a prayer or good thought for him, it would mean a lot. His name is Art and he was the best father, friend, hero anyone could wish for. I just hope he's at peace.

2. Thank you, livetohike
I appreciate your kindness. It doesn't seem like it will ever get easier, but I hope so too.

4. I believe he is at peace . . .
he doesn't have to deal with the things of the world anymore that weigh us down. No more worrying about bills to pay and stresses of everyday life. It is us that are left without peace because of the compounded loss of our loved ones and all the other stresses of life. I keep thinking there should be a suffering quota, you know like, okay you have suffered enough, you are done. Maybe being released from life is that suffering quota observed.
