1. I've never tried it but I'm hoping to get off the pill

and hate diaphrams. I'm wary of an IUD although I don't plan to have kids (too old).

anyone have experience with these that they'd like to share?

4. I got an IUD a little over a month ago
so far, I'm happy with it. Just had my first period with it and the cramps were not worse than usual -- about the middle of the spectrum for what's normal for me. The bleeding was somewhat heavier but not alarmingly so, and that will probably decrease in a few more months as my uterus gets used to the IUD. I have the Paragard, the copper T. There's a newer type of IUD, the Mirena, which releases a small amount of progestin and tends to cause lighter periods but I tried taking progestin-only pills when I was nursing and it's not for me.

2. I tried it many many years ago.
Spermicides always irritated my skin 'down there', and this was no exception. I was only able to use it once, and I got a severe irritation in the lady regions. But I reacted that way to all spermicides, which was too bad because it seemed like a great idea.

3. I used it
I even had my secret stash when it was discontinued. I thought it was a terrific product and much easier to use than a diaphragm. For someone like me who had really bad reactions with the pill, and fear of the IUD the sponge was a god send. Glad they finally brought it back.
