As many of us realize, hating and trashing Hillary (and Bill) is alive and well on DU.

Recently the flaming were about the how her nomination to Secretary of State would be "unconstitutional." Even a smug post about people not reading the Constitution.

I had to ask for an explanation, still stating that both Hillary and Obama are smart, knowledgeable people who know what they are doing.

The Constitution prevents a member of the House to take a position as a Civil Servant when that position or salary were voted on by that member.

So here is the Saxbe Fix

Historically, the solution has been to reduce salaries of Cabinet positions to the level they were before to the offending salary increases.

But, of course, facts and reasons have not been used by the Hillary haters..

Still, if you run into one of those posts about appointing Hillary is unconstitutional, tell them about the Saxbe Fix.

2. I Think That Whole Squabble Is a Ridiculous Distraction

Even if it is a legitimate issue, we're talking about a congress that changed laws in order to keep a rogue POTUS, V-POTUS and AG out of prison. You think they're not going to bend a law like this to make one of their own happy?
