I am Really Proud of Hillary!

Nothing gets Hillary down too far, and she tells us why. I realize now, why I love her so much. This philosophy of life is *so much* like my own. It's not a martyr complex. It's not holier than thou. It is a simple practice.... being grateful for what one has .... in the face of life's daily horrors. Like Ms. Clinton, I have seen plenty of what can happen to good people. My years as a pediatric intensive care nurse, and later a bone marrow transplant nurse..... were downright harrowing.

Hillary recently put out an ad that was designed to appeal to night shift workers. Some folks on the D.U. criticized her for being too dressed up in it. LOL. The nurse executives I watched last nights debate with.... after we gave her a standing ovation for her persistence on universal health care.... we talked about that ad. We laughed about having to look good enough to attend meetings in the morning, after a long night in the ICU, or the ED. We shook our heads about the criticism.

Here's the ad, in case you haven't seen it:

I know that, no matter what happens in this election.... Hillary will NEVER stop fighting for universal health care. So, I haven't stopped fighting for her.

Yesterday I made about 50 calls to folks in the Toledo area, to invite them to her rally there tonight. I can't believe I am saying this, but it was a wonderful experience! I talked with three elderly ladies who told me they were too old to go... but would be praying for Mrs. Clinton. One of them cried about how much she wanted to see the first lady in the Oval Office. She had already voted. I also talked with one young man, very animated..... even flambouyant.... who thanked me *profusely* for the invite and for working for his candidate. The call that really got to me tho, was the Teamster who told me Hoffa "can go F himself" ... and that he and his wife will *always* be a Clinton family. They had been to Bill's rallies, and would certainly be at Hillary's too. I had six or seven hang ups. (Obama supporters, I guess, cuz surely SOME registered Dem in Ohio is going for Obama?) Several answering machines. A few undecideds.

The experience was NOTHING like ones I have had in previous campaigns. If you have ever done camp calling, you know what I mean by this. People simply don't cry over their candidates. The hang-ups are typically more numerous. You can even get cussed at. Sometimes it takes a kevlar suit! Not this year. At least not if you are calling Ohioans about Hillary.

This weekend I am hosting a BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) party for Hill. Sunday from 3:30 to 5 PM. If you are in the Cincy area, and would care to join me... drop me a line. You won't have to pay any long distance charges. And, you can relax over lunch as you call. We'll be at the Hyde Park Panera. All you need is a cell phone (and your charger!)

3. Remember when Hillary said she was proud of Obama? People said that was a code racist word.
You're proud of a child, not of a man.

I'm still fuming about that and every time I see the word "proud" I think of it.

5. I live in Massachusetts and the whole experience was very hollow here..
with Kerry, Kennedy and Deval Patrick endorsing Obama. Fortunately, we were able to deliver the state to HRC but not as healthy a win as I'd have liked.

I'm jealous of your upcoming experience. Enjoy and keep dialing!
