Weekend warriors
I am curious how many DU'ers would be interested in donating a weekend to assist fellow DU'ers in the Katrina aftermath?
Would probably be talking about mid to end of February.
Any takers? Anyone want to help coordinate this?

2. Check out Katrina Krewe
I volunteered with them yesterday. We cleaned a huge part of Napoleon Avenue and Claiborne in a few hours. Well over 100 volunteers showed up!! This number has grown week after week.

If y'all come to town on a weekend. Be sure to check http://www.cleanno.org/ for that week's cleanup spot.

Also there are groups who get together to adopt a home and clean it out. This can be very dangerous. Volunteers for work like this will need heavy duty respirators, protective clothing, and heavy duty rubber/plastic gloves.

3. Also tetanus shots
In Mississippi, people who go out cleaning lots or houses are required to have tetanus shots.
