I don't know what planet NBC functions on, BUT IT'S NOT THIS ONE. The job outlook is HORRIBLE.

START THE REVOLUTION!!!!

1. It is wonderful for
people living in foreign countries like India, where we have outsourced all our jobs. If you have an education and speak decent English, you have a wonderful job outlook doing the job once held by an American.

An interesting observation I have made is that other countries in Europe are beginning to do the same. I have noted that a product I have used for some time, made in Germany for decades, is now made in Mexico.

2. I almost hate to admit it,
But in this area it is looking the best it has in 4-5yrs. I would in no means call it wonderful though. Instead of hemorrhaging jobs by the thousands, we are now seeing some hiring. The trick is though these new jobs are like this> Shut down a plant that employed 1000 people, let it sit empty for 3yrs then a new place opens in same building and only employs 50-100. Even the local paper has deem our glory days over for good.

3. Not if you made the mistake of getting a college degree it isn't.

Yes, I understand my education is invaluable. So is the relevant work experience I have, in high-stress fields which require competent, honest folks. You know your economy is broken when it's 100% legal to not hire those with any kind of formal education--and yeah, I know several marginally employed or unemployed post-graduate degree holders, including one with a medical degree. We're fucked, everyone.

8. I'll try to remember that
as we enter the TENTH month of my husband, with two college degrees and vast amounts of experience, can't find a job. Yesterday he applied for a "Clerk" position at Office Max. Meanwhile, with two college degrees and vast amounts of experience of my own, I'm doing clerical work. So, when is it that that "trickle down" thing is supposed to kick in again?
