Support "Air America Radio."
Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 08:36 PM by Eric J in MN
AAR is going through rough times now, as most new businesses do. They're losing their New York City station.

We can help by joining AAR Premium.

People who join get access to podcasts and a streaming archive.

4. Lost their lease.
And word is that it might not be easy to lease another station in that market.

6. What other station in the New York City market?
When WEVD lost its format and its station, there was no available place to relocate. The hosts scattered to the winds and are now on four different stations.

Air America would have to either buy an existing station and change its format or petition the FCC for airspace and then create a station. Both options are unlikely at this point. The only remote idea would be to take over WNEW-FM as its format is badly floundering and may make a deal in desperation.

9. Lemme put it to you this way: it USED TO BE a real kickass rock station.
Now see what it's been reduced to: "Classic" Dance Mix:

8. Already a member
If CBS were serious about boosting their ratings in New York, they would have replaced David Lee Roth and the rest of their lineup with Air America.

12. I'm a member too and purchased XM specifically for AAR...
I understand what an uphill battle this has all been, but I sure wish I had some insight as to what the hell is going on with their managmeent. Hiring Goldberg never made sense and I remain pissed at some of his decisions (killing off Morning Sedition for one, only to give us the horrendously boring Mark Riley show--and I do like Riley, just not the current show).

Was Goldberg responsible for some of the troubles now, too? What gives with AAR management?
