ANNOUNCEMENT - NEW RADIO AD CONTEST TO DEFEAT GOP IN '06!
Edited on Mon May-01-06 09:35 AM by Mugsy

NOW OPEN!

- Mission Accomplished? Time for a new mission:

The "Bush in 30 Seconds" Archive is pleased to announce a NEW ad contest for the 2006 mid-Term Elections!

"BI30" (www.bi30.org), home to the largest archive of videos from MoveOn.org's 2003 "Bush in 30 Seconds" video contest, is sponsoring a new radio-ad contest for the 2006 Congressional mid-term elections!

Create the best 30-second radio spot you can think of with the ultimate goal of returning a Democratic majority to BOTH Houses of Congress this year and compete for the Grand Prize:

The best ad will be played once daily in the two weeks prior to the November election during a nationally broadcast radio show (to be determined) with funds raised from advertisers and thru donations. The contest is FREE to enter, and open to all.

Why Are We Doing This? Frankly, we're as tired as you are of people on the Right pointing an accusatory finger at The Left while engaging in rampant immoral, unethical and even outright criminal behavior with impunity. The Right says "the Democrats have no plan", but we have yet to hear anyone tell us what the "Republican Plan" is. "Stay the Course" is *not* an exit strategy, it has failed as economic policy, and leads to certain devastation as both an educational and environmental policy. It has become painfully apparent that the existing Republican controlled Congress will not hold President Bush accountable despite a parade of criminal and unconstitutional wrong-doings that have become so commonplace that the public now suffers from "scandal fatigue".

Democratic control of Congress is every bit as powerful as Democratic Control of the White House, only a bit more difficult having to win numerous smaller elections instead of just one big one. And we REFUSE to sit back and watch another election slip away due to a voting public that quickly forgets its anger following minor, transitory and recent "improvements" in policy made just in time for the election.

If you're like us, you already expect to see gas prices drop just a tiny bit a few weeks before the election. A few troops will come home, FEMA will respond like a SWAT team to each and every tropical storm and "Osama-in-the-box" will spring up with another video just in time "to remind everyone of what we are fighting for in Iraq". And once again, the American people will go to the polls, forgetting all the scandals, crimes, indictments, bribery, spying, emergency ineptitude, the expanding war in the Middle East, and looming environmental disaster, with a feeling of "things aren't so bad", then mindlessly pulling the lever for the same people that got us where we are today because the other guy is "a Liberal Democrat Flip-Flopper that wants to allow terrorists and gay couples to perform third-trimester abortions on Flag Day". I can taste the bile rising in my throat already, can't you?

But the experts agree, for the first time in decades, Democratic control of one or both Houses of Congress is well within reach. BI30 hopes to help make that a reality. We're not settling for just one or the other, WE NEED BOTH! The Republicans in both the House and the Senate have proven that there is no authority they won't abdicate to President Bush and the Neo-Conservatives running the White House, permitting them free reign to run roughshod over our Constitution. This isn't just about Democrats, this is about securing our liberties, our freedom and the futures of our children... and in a fun and entertaining way!

The grand opening of our new site is May 1st (third anniversary of "Mission Accomplished") as we try to attract advertisers and sponsors for the main event. Learn more about the event on our homepage: www.bi30.org

A NEW MISSION HAS BEGUN!

2. I Have A Lot Of Ideas... But Sadly Am Not Accomplished Enough
to PRODUCE a video. Someday I would LOVE to find the time to do this kind of stuff. Unfortunately, because I'm trying to become more Visibly Political, and time constraints at home, caring for my mother-in-law with Alzheimer's, I can't even keep my email cleaned out.

Good Luck to all! Go get 'em!!!

3. Radio contest, not video.
Nice concept, though due to budget limitations, this is a radio ad only contest, no video.
