1) I have been involved in social justice work, which means I get frequent mailings from such groups like Pax Christi, Bread for the World, and other groups working to eradicate poverty both here and abroad.

2) I have given money to Democratic political candidates.

3) I have made purchases of "political" material -- books, t-shirts, etc. -- online.

4) I have made comments critical of the Bush administration both here and elsewhere on the Internet.

5) I have actively supported Democratic candidates in an extremely conservative and GOP-infested part of town. I'm sure I've been turned in to some authority on this point alone.

6) My children, through no-holds-barred conversations about politics and current events at home, have been able to talk down their pro-Bush friends and teachers at school.

If all of the above make me a terrorist, then so be it.

Because the Chimp's view of the world is that you're either with him or against him. In that same warped view, all real Americans are with him, and everyone else is a terrorist (or is aligned with the terrorists).

Well, using that measuring stick, let's look at the evidence...

I actively worked against the Chimp in the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, including serving as a precinct captain in the 2004 campaign;

I have spoken out in public (in the neighborhood, at work, and elsewhere) against the Chimp, his cronies, and all that this administration stands for -- and have found allies and won converts by doing so;

I have given money to Democratic and Green Party candidates in the recent (and not so recent) past;

I have given money to groups like Greenpeace, World Wildlife Fund, Catholic Relief Services, TrueMajority, and similar groups in the recent (and not so recent) past;

I am a frequent visitor (and on rare occasion I am a poster) to DU and like-minded sites;

My voting record, while not a stright-line vote for all Democratic candidates, is decidely more blue than red;

Along with AngryOldDem, we have raised our children to think critically and to not drink the Repuke Kool-Aid that is served so freely at our end of town;

Also along with AngryOldDem, we have raised our children to have social consciences and an understanding that they have a responsibility those who are less fortunate (there is no "I got mine" in our house);

And for all of the other ways not listed here where I have shown that I am out of step with the Chimp and his ilk, thereby demonstrating that I am not their kind of American, I must in their view be some kind of terrorist.

But my kids would rather me be this way, than to be another "American Idiot" that their favorite band Green Day mocks in song.
