6. Get a ham radio?
I'd say use voice-over IP, but that is probably tapped and logged by default.

9. It's very confusing.
Carlyle bought the Directory Business from Qwest. They don't own the telecommunications portion.
Check out the other Qwest threads, I'm not sure what to make of it all.

16. Biggest Database in History? How about BIGGEST CLASS ACTION SUIT...
...IN HISTORY?

I've always wanted to own a telco.

All the telcos: User-pwned!

It might be the ONLY way to get regulation back on these "Baby-Huey Bells."

8. So that's why they didn't comply. They didn't have to = no punishment
for non-compliance. Unlike others who are getting all kinds of punishment for just disagree-ing.

Washington, D.C., March 15, 2005 - The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Joseph P. Nacchio, former co-chairman and chief executive officer of Qwest Communications International Inc., and eight other former Qwest officers and employees with fraud and other violations of the federal securities laws. In three separate but related civil actions, the Commission alleges that, between 1999 and 2002, the Qwest defendants engaged in a multi-faceted fraudulent scheme designed to mislead the investing public about the company's revenue and growth.

Nailed a bunch of the officers, but didn't indict the original owner......

I wonder how long it will be before they own and control all of the grocery stores?

18. QWEST is pure evil. Probably trying to keep the feds from their own crime
I hate QWEST, and had the rudest, most blatantly racist experience in my life with those criminals. It's not surprising that the Carlysle group is involved.

I don't know why they're fighting the NSA, but I suspect it's more about their own issues than doing what's right.
