It's hard to believe: Rummy was actually Cheney's mentor of Evil back in the old days. Cheney was the pupil.

Congestive heart failure will do this - my ex would nod off @ the slightest lull in a conversation, not enough oxygen going 2 the brain.

I wonder if that is why he is such a mean MF? He compensates for nodding off & missing details, by being extra evil.

He's very over weight, he drinks, he has gout and his heart is not capable of pumping the blood efficiently to all parts of his body....hense his brain is being deprived of oxygen and he can't stay awake.

Anyone who is familiar with heart patients, also know that they are some of the meanest and hardest to get along, and he certainly qualifies in that category. They can't help it and are just down right testy and at times nasty. It has to do with lack of oxygen to the brain.

The guy's a walking time-bomb and will definitely have another full-fledged heart attack at some point in the future. I'm sure his doctors' advise goes in one ear and out the other.

Advice to a man in his condition is as follows:

1) LOOSE WEIGHT and maintain

2) Exercise daily - get heart rate up daily (preferably walking, but there are other types of exercise recommended also)

3) DO NOT DRINK ANY KIND OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES - it interferes with the medication big-time.

4) Avoid stress

Heart patients also have problems sleeping at night, so therefore lots of them are sleep deprived and nap during the day. Maintaining a strict schedule/routine helps alleviate this - one reason why exercise is so important - it helps them sleep better at night.

I've speculated in the past when Cheney has been out of the public view, that he has had an "incident" and his ICD has kicked in and jolted his heart rhythms back into sync. It's a pretty devastating event and takes a bit of recovery time.
