Unsure about who to transfer your service to? Qwest has crap for service, even if they have a slightly better developed sense of ethics.

I hate to sound like an advertisement and I have no financial ties or other ties to this company but I've been impressed with them for years. Working For Change -check them out. http://www.workingforchange.com/webgraphics/nsa.html

1. I have a Visa from Working Assets.
I was reading about their long distance and didn't see anything about calls to Canada...do you have any idea if they offer it or are they just in the US?

2. Not to upset the apple cart
...but if it's true that Working Assets leases their lines from Sprint/Nextel, then there's a very good chance that their customers are just as exposed as Verizon/AT&T/BellSouth. See this thread, I'm only going by what the article says:

4. Would you click on my link
and see what Working Assets has to say. I'm not saying that some of our information further down the line hasn't been compromised but they are against it and they're joining in the fight against it.

And they aren't newly liberal. They were created on liberal standards from day one.

3. I'm in agreement about QWest's crappy customer service
Edited on Sat May-13-06 01:39 AM by uppityperson
I have hated them for yrs, fought with them, been taken for a ride by them, have thought of switching but haven't since have a decent (low cost) plan. I like the working assets bush doormat though. Edited to change working assets to the right name.

6. kicking
Because I posted this in the night and most people didn't see it. As well, here's an exerpt from their website:

Working Assets joins the blogosphere
in opposition to Big Telecom/NSA database
Working Assets is the only telephone company participating in the ACLU's lawsuit against the National Security Agency. We believe that the warrantless monitoring of phone conversations ordered by the Bush administration is illegal and unacceptable. We oppose the sale of domestic calling records to the NSA by AT&T, BellSouth and Verizon.
