Hey, Bro. It's Sissy & Cool Hand Luke.
I know you read my journal several times a week, although you're not an "actual member" of DU. You should be. It's fun! I'm not trying to recruit you into something silly. This is spectacular business. Anyway, I was just thinking of you because I'm watching Cool Hand Luke for the umpteenth time. You and I remind me of Cool Hand Luke sometimes. Remember when I gave you the DVD for Christmas?

You loved it. Remember asking God, "Hell, man, you here tonight?" "Old man, I gotta tell you. I started off pretty strong & fast. So what do you have in mind for me?" and then, "Well, yeah". I was thinking of you cause yesterday was the last day of my job. The anatomy of a last day is never pretty. Girls crying everywhere, even me. I didn't think I would cry or break, but seeing a gigantic company like the one in Florida swallow up our little house here in NC was too much. Reading the latest atrocities in the news wasn't much better. Do you know the next time I talk to you our call could be recorded? Luke would scoff at that.

You and I have both had to scoff at whatever absurdity was considered "authority". It's the way Dad raised us, ironically. He's really the utmost authority in our lives because he cares about us. But scoffing at "authority" has won us praise and caused us punishment. We had people turn their backs on us because they couldn't handle the scrutiny of having spoken out in their own defense. They couldn't deal with the punishment they felt from the people who called the shots nor the people who felt them. This is the era of being on your own. Watching this movie made me think of why we loved it so much. How many jobs have we had between us? Twenty? We never knocked over a parking meter and got sent to work in a chain gang, but we've had to endure less-than-unique bullshit. But we've also been smiled at from people with like minds.

I feel like I'm rambling here. What I want you to know about me is that I'm a lot like you. We have spirit. We'll do the egg-eating contest for kicks because it's a distraction and because we know we can endure. If we've "never had a plan" in our whole lives, it's just as well. We make them along the way, like Luke. We'll be okay. And we're going to have that smile on our faces til the end, because we know we'll never really be alone.

I love you, bro.

Love, Sissy.

6. I am a better person for knowing you too.
When my brother reads this, he will know that I am thinking about him especially today. He has a great track record for caring. As many times as we've fought in our youth, I don't think there's anyone with whom I'm this close. Thank you so much for your warm regards. Maybe this summer I can give you a hug in person!!

 :hi: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

4. and i quote, "wouldn't it be splendid if you could say this IN PERSON to..
"...(him)?"...however sadly my darling these GDer'z care so little for Hallmark moments as to prompt me to wait until now to :kick: and recommend

:yourock:

i lost my beloved brother, Willy, to prostate cancer last year even though he was so young and vital @ 52, and miss him very much  god bless not only the child who has his/her own, but they who've still access to their support systems...perhaps soon we will all enter heaven together

Gillian Welch ~ Orphan Girl

I am an orphan on God's highway
But I'll share my troubles if you go my way
I have no mother no father
No sister no brother
I am an orphan girl

I have had friendships pure and golden
But the ties of kinship I have not known them
I know no mother no father
No sister no brother
I am an orphan girl

But when He calls me I will be able
To meet my family at God's table
I'll meet my mother my father
My sister my brother
No more orphan girl

Blessed Savior make me willing
And walk beside me until I'm with them
Be my mother my father
My sister my brother
I am an orphan girl

7. Bro Here
Hey Sissy,

Yup, you caught me on here today.. I actually signed up, and
here I am, out of the closet! I have a colbert icon of my own
but they won't let non-donors pick their own! So I picked a
baybie since I am one here.

I love you too sis!

Scoff, scoff! With all your freetime now, you should go on
v a c a t i o n! Go to DC and put a yellow Mall Wart smilie
face on your head and a suit, and stand at the front gate of
the white house with your hands on the bars, shaking them
violently, flopping your big yellow head forward and
backwards.

:)
