Will bush's base coming running back to their daddy ...
because of his speech of lies tonight. Does anyone really believe that the only reason they have left him is because of Iraq or the border I know that plays a great part as well as gasoline prices but are these people that stupid to believe that he is a leader or that he knows what he is doing . He is just spoutin out what his puppetmasters tell him.

1. hell no, the only way they;ll come back is if he says----
"We'll be rounding up all illegals and shipping that back to mexico" which he's not going to say and i think the whole national guard on the border thing has already been spun against him as a temporary bandaid just to pander to the base.

2. The freepers may be dumb
but even a peabrain can see that Bush's little show of arms
on the border (complete with mandatory photo-op later this week)
is nothing but a ruse.. a con.. a snowjob... and yet another manipulative
and vacant act on behalf of the Chimpenfuehrer. But if they start shooting
Mexicans.... THAT's something the Freeps will get all excited about.

Yet oh so doubtful... y'see all Bush really cares about is delivering cheap
(i.e. under the minimum wage) labor to his crony friends in big business
(ie.. the fellas who write the checks). Bush really doesn't give a crap
what the Freeps think.. no more than he cares what you or I think.

3. Running Away - Third Party?
Some of the fundamental leaders seems to be going in the other direction.

A third party?

8. I believe this third party ...
will consist of repugs and dems from the middle and repugs who are up to no good will infiltrate and lie to run someone who is just like the repugs most of us dislike

4. There might be a short-term bounce...
...that will evaporate when 1) W insists that the Congress proceed with his guest worker plan, and 2) reporters do the obligatory follow-up stories showing Mexicans continuing to slip across the border.

5. This immigration thing means nothing to the US public. The only reason
they are trying it is that they have completely run out of other "hot button" issues. They dare not bring up the gay marriage or abortion shit, since they are afraid that the public has gotten hip to the fact that they never do anything about them anyway.

6. no - he's in an impossible situation
He can't do what the freepers want - round up all the brown people and send them south - because his base (the haves and the have-mores) make tons and tons of money off of said brown people and would get angry if actually did anything to reduce the number of immigrants (illegal or otherwise) coming over the border, money being more important than anything else.

So what can he do - make a weird sounding tough talk on immigration post the few national guardsman not in Iraq or working in new orleans or tying to Drain New England on the Mexican border. To do what? And for how long? A week a month a year? And how many - it's long border. And then you go back to the fact that he really doesn't want this to work (see above).

It's going to be a stupid half measure that will satisfy only those who are already happy with him.
