If Election was Held Today: Kerry 48% to Bush 41%
Edited on Mon May-15-06 03:30 PM by louis c

Rasmussen Reports:

<snip>

May 15, 2006- a polling rematch of the 2004 presidential election shows that John Kerry leads George W. Bush 48% to 41%. In the real election, Kerry never held a lead that big in any nightly polls we conducted from January 2 to Election Day.

The latest poll is another indication of how much support has fallen for the president since his re-election.

<end snip>

PS. Remember that Rasmussen is a Repuke, so these numbers are probably better even than that.

5. Huh? 41% would still vote for *?
When asked if the country is going in the wrong direction, I think that about 67% said yes. So people who think that Bush is leading the country in the wrong direction would still vote for him. That is plain nuts.

6. While it doesn't specify in this article
this may be a poll of "Likely Voters", wheras the overall approval polls generally do not make that distinction. Remember that in most elections close to half of US adults don't vote at all. I am sure many of those people disapprove of Bush which is what makes the overall approval so much lower than this poll.

I am just speculating though, I don't know the details of this Rasmussen poll...
