10. Keep this in mind
No one knows anything.

Fitzgerald's a pro and doesn't leak.

Anyone who claims to have "insider" information is lying.

No one knows anything.

That's my mantra, and I'm sticking to it.

You've repeated this mantra before...I remember it well!

(And you were right then, too.)

15. I like "time alone, time will tell"
because, eventually, everything is laid out for the world to see. It might take 24 hours, years, or 2,400 years. But time will tell.

21. Don't bet on it
In case you hadn't noticed, Fuckface stole two elections, and, last time I looked, got away with both of them.

So, what's time gonna do about THAT?

There is no indictment. Deal with reality.

There is no indictment, and no one knows anything.

23. No, I don't rely on time to form my opinions
I'm more into reality and knowledge.

But, whatever works for you.

Does time ever run out for you on this one? I mean, is there a deadline when you either announce a victory or an error?

Just wondering.

24. frankly, I'll be happy if rove is indicted
it seems t.o.was wrong on the 24 hr. thing.

Now, if I may ask a question. Why is this such a big deal for you? Are you a t.o. fan that is now disillusioned? A fan of truth and honesty that feels utterly let down by the falsity of the story? Why does t.o. getting this story wrong bother you so much (if it does bother you at all)?

25. I'm always appalled when good people
Edited on Wed May-17-06 08:40 PM by OldLeftieLawyer
are lied to and misled. I think DU folks deserve better, but, given the rabidity of some of the reactions, perhaps I was wrong about that.

It's not a big deal, because this is only a message board. That's got to be kept in perspective.

I just believe it's good to inform people of truth and reality and how things work when others are misleading them and taking advantage of their gullibility.

And, of course, the utter absurdity of the story offended my long years as a Washington lawyer.

But, what REALLY bothers me is that people's energies and passions have once again been diverted. As I keep pointing out:

How many Marines died in Iraq these past few days?

How much is gas in your area?

How many people in your community can't go to a doctor or a dentist because they lack either health insurance or money?

Got groceries?

Remember New Orleans?

Notice our crumbling infrastructure?

How much did the Cheneys earn from Halliburton last year?

Where is the Democratic leadership that will present a viable and energetic agenda and lead us out of this darkness in November?

There are, you see, bigger deals.

12. Maybe they are a Venusian day, then they have 243 days to go.
I mean if you are going to stretch the imagination to the ridiculous why not go all out to the absurd?

13. What is so diffcult to understand?
It's 24 business hours and it's not an unusual thing in law.

I think Fitz is being too kind to Rove to give him the time, but I'm not in control of the timing.

16. That not law
law will give you a specific time to turn yourself in, they aren't Lenses R US, or some bullshit like that.. I've seen and read many lawyers shaking their heads and saying, "Whaa?"

This is NOT any sort of legal term used in the system, and it's go damn clunky, that it's obviously a stretch..

They story didn't make any sense, the math was fuzzy so they refuzzed it some more, the point being that ALL MEDIA have been saying for a few weeks that Rove would MOST PROBABLY be Indicted in 10 Days to TWO WEEKS.. funny how this screwy non legal term inserted when everyone was screaming ,"IT'S all FIXED, ROVE'S GOING DOWN ON MONDAY!" and coincidentally it will turn out to be just about the time the Grand Jury meets, WED or FRI..

So when they Indict him this WED OR FRI all the LeoCULT will be screaming, "So what if he was a few days OFF, he's STILL Indicted and just like they said, in Martian nanoseconds, it was THIS WEEK.."

All the old "Target letter delivered a MONTH ago" and the weekly, "Rove to be Indicted THIS WEEK" will go right out the window.

Watch and see, this is so freaking CONTRIVED, I Consider it a CONJOB..

Of course if I disagree with the LeoCult then I am a GOP operative, a troll, a freeper, a commie, a liar, I have bad breath, am a childe molester, and strangle bunnies in front of daycares..

30. "..... not an unusual thing in law....."
I've been practicing law in Washington and other jurisdictions for 30 years, and no one's ever heard that phrase.

It's not unusual - that's correct.

It's non-existent.

You've been had on that one, believe me.
