John Conyers: 'Help Me Fight Back Against the Republican Attack Machine'
Today, I am officially announcing my intent to seek reelection. I have never before sent a general email asking for help, but the stakes are simply too high at this point in our Nation's history.

Because I have been so outspoken in repeatedly speaking out against the excesses and abuses of the Bush Administration, and because the right wing fears that I will be chosen to chair the House Judiciary Committee if Democrats assume the Majority, the GOP hit man has come after me.

Help Me Fight Back

Karl Rove has identified me as the number one target of the Republican attack machine.

I need your help to help raise the resources to get reelected, to help get our message of accountability and checks and balances, and to fight back against the vicious right wing smear machine, which will only intensify in the coming weeks and months.

Help Me Lead the Charge Against this Administration's Abuse of Power

Thank you as always, for your dedication to democracy and liberty.

Sincerely,

John Conyers, Jr.

Above email received this morning from John Conyers

3. Go JC....
It's not like he'll have difficulty getting re-elected though. He typically gets about 85 percent of the vote in his district.

17. Thanks for posting this, Rep, Conyers is the best ~ funny how they
ignored him for so long and now he is a target ~

The media will be complicit in any attacks on him, so I've been telling everyone I know how great he is so they have the truth before they hear the lies. I hope he sues anyone who lies about him.

21. I'm sending my check it !!!
I think he is correct. He is going to be attacked. I hope he doesn't fly on any small planes. What a continuously courages man.
I loved watching the Congressional Black Caucus members of the House. I'm going to ask my Rep to sign on to their Budget. The have done to most to speak up for me. They are the true Democrats who speak up for the middle class and the workers. (unfortunately to watch them I have to suffer from the weasel Republicans, they make me want to puke.. what a bunch of chicken skins)

25. If I could only donate to one person, it would probably be him.
He's done more to support our causes than just about anyone that I know. I happily donated yesterday.
