Bush is either the dumbest person alive or the best actor in history
How can ANYONE act so happy and giddy when they know that the entire world hates them and everyone considers them to be the biggest failure of all time?

Every morning before I get ready for work, I see him on the news frollicking down the sidewalk, waving to imaginary people who never wave back, and looking like someone who just got laid for the first time in 3 months.

Any person in their right mind, who is such a complete failure as this guy, could never ever really be this happy unless he's either a complete 100% all-kidding-aside grinning moron....or someone who's putting on the act of the century.

Nothing's gone right for this guy. He's a historical flop of monumental proportions. Yet he prances around like a happy-go-lucky clown, laughing and joking all the time as if he doesn't even realize what everyone thinks about him. Something's not right with this picture!

If you knew the entire world hated your guts, would you be looking so happy as he does all the time?

1. I disagree.
He's certainly the dumbest person in the world, but I don't think he is a particularly good actor.

3. You are assuming...
...he gives a shit about what others think. Psychopaths rarely do.

On the other hand, he has gotten windfall tax cuts for his rich elite handlers, oil prices are through the roof, and he knocked off Daddy's nemesis. What's not to be happy about?

4. Self absorbed? Self serving? Life is good for King George.
No personal accountability ever and he's pretty sure he won't ever have to face the music. More money then he ever dreamed of. He lives like royalty. He had no conscious. He's oblivious to the suffering that he has caused and wouldn't care even if he were aware. A selfish, self serving, self absorbed and self righteous little prick. He just doesn't give a rat's ass and everything is good in his little world, fuck everyone else.

14. Pretty much
Hits what I was thinking. How many people faced with a losing war, a bland economy and a huge illegal spying scandal would start a new program. Bush has so little conscious he can easily talk about immigration like nothing else remotely negative is going on in the country.

5. He's no Chauncy Gardener.
I vote for "good actor". But look at his eyes closely and you can see glimpses of fear.

9. It takes a lot for a narcissist to let reality slip in
I've long thought that, amongst other problems, Bushboy suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He walks around oblivious to the truth but surrounded by clouds of delusion about his place in history, the efficacy of his governance, even false belief that he's a "compassionate conservative" (there is ZERO compassion in that man).

When anyone threatens that delusional self-image the Narcissist pounces on the threat with verbal violence or worse, thereby crushing critique (and thus the opportunity for reality to seep in). The scary thing is the potential for emotional outbursts when faced with such threats, which could lead to things like nuking Iran.

Bushboy is not only the worst pResident ever, he's the most dangerous in history too.

10. He's pretty well insulated from reality
by the people who keep his bubble intact. Oh, I think they've told him the polls aren't good, but I doubt anybody has told him he's below freezing. "Not good" to him probably means around 70%.

His only contact with the public is through Potemkin town meetings, attendees carefully screened for adherence to wingnut religion and idol worship. His contact with the press is carefully choreographed, with pre screened questions only, and answers fed through his earpiece. Every second of every day is stage managed so that he will have few surprises.

Every president has to face this sort of thing, one way or another. Clinton escaped some of it by keeping very late hours and doing some of his own research. Stupid seems to embrace it, though.

coupled with the fact that he's the most insular President in history and a raging sociopath.

16. That could be it
because it's hard to understand how anyone can be that dumb or that good an actor to consistently look like such a grinning idiot when nothing's gone right.

Gimme some more of those uppers, doc!

12. I don't think he's either of those.
He doesn't care about the opinion of anyone but his rich friends and political alies, and THEY all still love him. He can't run again so he doesn't have to care about the little voters anymore, and since he considers himself the King of the World, why should he GAS about others in the World? They, after all, are his subjects!

18. ((((((AND HE'S LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK))))))
Did you see his income report filed the other day?. MILLIONS and MILLIONS more than last year...Cheney too! They're all raking in the millions with these oil prices...which they are doing everything in their power to keep going up. Think about how much gas our military uses. Why the hell should he have any incentive to do something to get prices down. The higher the stock...the richer the profits and they've sure had a windfall!

19. This is the approach of all PNAC'ers...
It is the fundamental embracing of creating reality from enforced illusion. A "If you build it , they will come" ideology. Take a moment to consider the power of choosing to embrace an illusion. If you truly wish to believe that you are God's chosen by eradicating evil, making the world a good and righteous place and shutting out any voice as a dangerous attack to this ultimate belief in your own saintliness, then you begin to understand the self confirmation process that Shrubster is engaged in 24-7. It is a state of self induced psychosis. A very real and aggressive choice to embrace the opium pipe and give it greater substance than true reality. If an individual succeeds in this way, then there is no way he can lose. He truly creates his own reality. It stops mattering what others percieve. Only those who agree with your illusions are granted entrance to your special world.

As a nation, we are inherently optimistic visualizers. The very founding of our Democratic Representative from of Government is based on the ideology of "First you dream it, then you make it happen." So in a sense we are very vulnerable to this profound misdirection of policy that has attempted to destroy reality. Our very holders and reporters of reality, the media, have no longer given us tools to properly assess how valid the dream is and if it is based on concrete truths. We waste our time talking to those who have embraced this psychosis. You cannot force the insane understand reality, they must come to it themselves. However, if we offer a new dream to the American people, one that is based on truths that all can share as a common reality, then we can redirect away from this horror show that has captured our National zeitgeist and continue to become an ever greater and forward moving force.

I believe it is starting to happen, but the followers are still not just yet ready for a leader. But it is starting to happen and this leader is out there ready to be embraced. Soon, soon, we still have time...

There's a lot of questions about that, including one theory diagnosing possible presenile dementia.

Edited on Wed May-17-06 07:08 PM by Lisa
Hence the smirking at inappropriate times.

I believe that the guy is so detached from reality that he just does not care about ANYTHING, even sagging poll numbers, that doesn't have a direct effect on him (looking forward to lunch, had a nice bike ride, etc.)

And since he doesn't have to campaign for himself again, he has no worries! (the GOP are starting to realize that he doesn't care whether they lose seats this fall either)
