I didn't start posting here until after the '04 primaries.

Is this about as bloody as it gets or should I scrounge for some more ace bandages and iodine?

When I first discovered DU I could get riled up like Granny on The Beverly Hillbillies. My hair was on fire. Of course, that was before I discovered alternative media outlets that expressed my opinions, rage and dissent. I’ve since learned that while the state of hair on fire is selective, it’s still volatile, combustible and unpredictable. That gave me hope.

When I have hope, I am not desperate, cruel or intentionally unkind. (Ironically, I also hope that my posts will have a sardonic edge.) Anyway, I’m no longer compelled to post my response to some dumb-ass story or some equally dumb-ass response. I just let the dumb-ass partisans slide (until primary season.) And please, don’t presume that I responded to your post because I thought it was from a dumb-ass. I don't and did not. You struck a chord.

I actually come to DU for news now. Unfortunately, what comes for news doesn’t always stay in news. But I’m getting better about it, even if I don’t truck with DLC candidates during primary season. Frankly, there is no reason to support DLC candidates in the general election. They are controlled by the same corporate money/interests as the GOP. No tilt available there.

15. I signed up right in the thick of the primary season.
And this is nothing compared to the nastiness I saw upon my arrival.

16. I can tell you...
A lot of the people you are talking to now won't be around after the primaries are all over, maybe not even you.

Yes, it gets THAT bad.

I purposefully did NOT join until after the primaries because of the "bloodshed" that was going on here.

I don't know what I'm going to do for the 2007/2008 primaries. I might have to stay in the lounge or just not come here during that time. Wait for the dust to settle sometime around May or June 2008. LOL.

This is pretty minor by comparison, IMHO.
