Zarqawi the cross-dresser? Karl Rove at work again....
Projecting his own predelictions onto the enemy Rove implies Zarqawi was dressing up....

Women’s clothing found at al-Zarqawi house

Inspection of destroyed house also finds magazines, militant propaganda

HIBHIB, Iraq - The ruins of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s house are strewn with a random jumble of wreckage -- magazines, a leopard-print nightgown, a religious slogan and a few hints at the violent career of Iraq’s most wanted man.

4. Per the article on CNN.com
2 adult women and 1 female child were also killed in the attack. Probably belonged to them, but the headline implies otherwise, that's for sure.

6. No SHIT??? Might it have belonged to THESE THREE??

A total of six people died when the house was destroyed by two 500-pound bombs on Wednesday. An Iraqi army officer said they included two women and an eight-year-old girl.

That's some LOW headline writing, there. There's no assertion in the piece that suggests that Zarqawi was wearing the garments.

13. 40-foot wide crater!
Bulldozers cleared some of the site and filled a 40-foot wide crater left by the air strikes, U.S. officers said.

9. A few months ago I watched a special on women in SA and Kuwait
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 03:08 PM by theHandpuppet
These were women in very restrictive Muslim societies. One of the things I distinctly remember was the fact that the women, who were covered head to toe in public, admitted they liked shopping for expensive and exotic lingerie and stated that in the privacy of their own homes it not only allowed them feminine luxuries but that their husbands encouraged it. Made sense to me.

This special aired on one of the major investigative programs -- I don't recall whether it was a CNN special, 48 Hours or what not. But the presence of such undergarments in a home where women lived is perfectly understandable and someone is trying to make this out to be a lot more than it is.

19. Why?
Sorry, I don't see the connection between the FDR photo and the particular issue I was addressing.

All I was saying is that to find fancy lingerie in the home of a Muslim woman shouldn't be that unusual at all, and if the media or RW hacks are insinuating that there IS more then they are full of it. So why am I also supposed to explain the photo of FDR?

20. Don't get defensive
Has it ever occurred to you someone is genuinely interested in your reasoning on an issue?

I'd like to hear your take on how the FDR photo got there.

Why would terrorists be interested in FDR?

Or do you think it's just coincidence?

10. Lovely subtext.
So when our government wants to discredit someone, what's the best way they can think of doing it? Of course! Compare him to a mere woman! Nothing is more pathetic than a woman, right? So if we give people the idea that Zarqawi may be a bit of a trannie, that's pretty much the same as calling him a girly. And we all know how worthless women are, right?

Looks like the extreme Islamists aren't the only ones living in the 14th Century.

11. Thought it was interesting about the FDR magazine photo
Think they're trying to connect Zarqawi with a liberal icon? Look for this angle to be exploited by one or more repub commentators this week.

16. These people have some serious sexual hang ups
They really need some sort of therapy. They are obsessed with thinking the most perverse of thoughts. Then they like to equate their perversity to a "tough on crime" stance! Observe how many people with the worst types of sexual proclivities we are discovering withing the ranks of law enforcement and other authoritarian bureaus.

14. That Is Quite A Leap, Mr. Franklin
Why should anyone assume these were worn by Zarqawi? It is well known this was a family's home.
