Snow:"..number three in al Qaeda...has a relatively short life expectancy"

http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N15409827.htm

<snip>

The White House portrayed Zarqawi as having a major role in the international al Qaeda group, which was behind a series of high-profile attacks including the Sept. 11 destruction of the New York World Trade Center.

Snow put him as number three in the organization. "To be number three in al Qaeda is one (position) that has a relatively short life expectancy. I think Zarqawi is now the fifth to have fulfilled that position," he said.

Top al Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri, believed to be hiding in the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, have eluded a U.S.-led manhunt.

Hadley said the impact of Zarqawi's death went beyond the operations in Iraq.

2. Short life expectancy should have special significance for Snow, also.

From the internets:

"In February 2005, Snow revealed that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer. He returned to work in April 2005. (In 1973 when Snow was in his senior year in high school, his mother had died of colon cancer at the age of 38.)"

Edited to add reference.

5. No, he received a clean bill of health
I don't wish him dead.
I prefer that all associated with this administration suffer extreme
public humiiiation.

And for those at the top,
*, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, et al .....
I am hoping to see lengthy jail terms.

6. The graveyards are full of cancer patients who received a similar
prognosis. At least, that is what statistics show. Of course, that is just a number.

3. Nonetheless
They don't seem to have much trouble filling that position.

4. This claim is absolute garbage.

Zarqawi at various times refused to swear fealty to Osama because OSAMA WASN'T RADICAL ENOUGH.

Zarqawi founded his own organization in Iraq without Osama's blessing and only got a halfhearted blessing later because of his 'good work' - and then this year got scolded because his schemes were totally out of control, culminating in Zarqawi's death and the current dismantling of his network. Which, unfortunately, serves Osama's interests because a healthy and united native Iraqi insurgency stands a stronger chance of killing more Americans in the meantime.

Edit: To be more explicit, to my knowledge Zarqawi was never a member of AL QAEDA itself. The US may have rated him the #3 Islamic terrorist, but it wasn't because Zarqawi held rank and title in that organization.

8. So Tony Snow is now Bush's tough-talk mouthpiece...
Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that he was apologizing for running his mouth?

Remember:

"bring it on"

"wanted dead or alive"

"mission accomplished"

blah, blah, blah
