Poll question: Now that Japan is in control, how long before whale extinction?
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 08:12 PM by benburch
The hungry maw of the Japanese Fishing Industry, which has already fished the deep seas clean of most edible fish, now has control of the Whaling Commission.

How long before we Humans have EATEN the last of the Cetatians?

1. Given the ever expanding population...
all that will remain of the Earth will be a burned
out husk. Maybe the cockroach will end up as the
pinnacle of life on Earth.

Maybe the roach deserves to win. After all, they
don't make nearly as big a mess as do humans.

2. I don't think it will come to that
I do think it will take forcibly converting a few whaling ships into arteficial reefs. I must admit, the thought pleases me more than I can say.

Three, if I'm not mistaken. Two in Iceland and one in Spain.

They're going out with a faster ship this year too. :)

6. I'd write...
...if I thought they'd give a shit.

Instead, I am going to give money to Sea Shepherd. Maybe some arms dealer will sell them some torpedos.

7. The Japanese delegation sound like a really intelligent bunch.
Not.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/06/18/whaling.ap/index.html

The Japanese applauded -- which was met by head-shaking from whaling opponents. The winners shouted "sore losers" at opponents when they tried to continue debating the resolution after the vote. The Irish delegate looked despaired, holding his head in his hands.
