How Bushes Trip Looked From Moscow - and Tehran

I think Moscow may have seen this with clearer eyes than most of us did.

1. We get such a false picture
from corpomedia.

The word "insurgents" should be shitcanned immediately. It tells us nothing except the individuals have access to arms (and who doesn't there?).

In order to have any idea what's going on over there, we have to know:
1) Iraqi or (non-coalition)foreigner?
2) Shi'ite or Sunni?

That's just for starters.

2. Does anyone even care about Iraq anymore?
I just don't get it? Theres all kinds of news out there about Iraq and what is really going on. But no one here even seems to care. They are more interested in making jokes about stuff. Or just in generalized badmouthing of Bush and Rove. I don't think that practice is really very helpful.

6. We have to let off steam in someway.
Laughing helps me deal with the seriousness.

8. Oh, I like some of it, too.
But lately the discussions here just seem so blah. It is almost like everyone is simply "cared out."

There have been some really interesting topics - Like Cheney and the Army Corp of Engineers lying about his involvement. And no one even seems to care anymore.

4. Here's the essential point (W as uniter again):

The killing of al-Zarqawi, a radical Sunni who had a pathological hatred for Shias, can boomerang at American interests, because al-Zarqawi was the main obstacle to the unification of Iraq's two Islamic communities into a broad anti-American coalition. U.S. troops in Iraq may be sorry yet for getting rid of the man who loved blowing up Shiite mosques more than American Hummers.

5. I think you be right no target on this.
Zarqawi was an awful human being. But I don't think getting rid of him has done anything good for us.
