1. Great graph!
Going to print this out---good fodder for repukes since they relate better to pictures than words---at least the ones I know and have to deal with. THANKS!

2. On the front page of the Akron Beacon Journal (1990? Late 80s?)
one day, they had a graph . . . the "national debt" from the first year where we had one.

All across the top of the page was 19whatever to 1980 . . . then when it reached 1981, it went from the top of the page all the way down the page, to accommodate Reagan/Bush . . .

That was one freaky graphic . . . and it probably solidified the righties' hatred of the Beacon as a "leftist" rag . . . without addressing the actual issues . . . I know it had to be pre-Clinton.

4. the saddest part to me is to see Clinton's numbers
totally wiped out by Bush.

In honor of another post today, if I were God I'd make this everyone screen saver. Make 'em stare at it all day. How can it be so stark?

3. So when can we put to rest any thought that Republicans are fiscally
responsible and stand for smaller government? It ought to be obvious to all that Bush Republicanism is out to destroy this country. This, in my book, a form of treason.

6. Tax cuts for the rich, and debt for the country.

We are seeing the results of bad policy, bad fiscal policy and bad government.

It takes awhile but eventually it all adds up.

7. Here's another national debt graph
This one, which I have shared here before, shows debt as a percentage of GDP. Note that the data comes from the historical tables in the 2006 OMB Budget as download from WhiteHouse.gov, so it might depict forecasts of future performance that are biased in favor of the current administration.
