Imagine: John Lennon
on HBO now.

I was awake the night he died, heard iton the radio, but was too young to get it.

What a fucking awesome man.

2. Heartbreaking.
He was a smart man with passionate beliefs about things still so very relevant in the world this very moment.

Why the hell would anyone assassinate this man for simple beliefs?

4. He wasn't killed for his beliefs
He was shot by a lunatic, who freely admits he did it and why. He shot John to assuage his own demons. It had nothing to do with anything John believed.

5. His son disagrees

Sean Lennon, who made his debut as a solo artist last month, told New Yorker magazine that the ex-Beatle was a "counter-cultural revolutionary" who the American government could not ignore. He said: "He was dangerous to the government. If he had said, 'Bomb the White House tomorrow', there would have been 10,000 people who would have done it. These pacifist revolutionaries are historically killed by the government.

"Anybody who thinks that Mark Chapman was just some crazy guy who killed my dad for his personal interests, is insane. Or very naive. Or hasn't thought about it clearly. It was in the best interests of the United States to have my dad killed. Definitely. And, you know, that worked against them because, once he died, his powers grew . . . They didn't get what they wanted."

Also, the lead Police investigator supported the idea of a conspiracy.

It's always "lunatics", but you should google "MK ultra".
BTW, Chapman passed his psych exam with flying colors.

3. An idealist.
I wonder what he'd have to say about offshoring.

He would probably would be in favor of it, saying how we're elevating everyone else up to our level.

Of course, that also worsens energy requirements and pollution... never mind how we are seeing how it's hurting way too many here at home.
