if so what would you like to see the Democratic Party do and what are your ideas on social democracy or socialism? Personally I would like to see BIG(basic guaranteed income) enacted. We have already seen implements of it with the child tax credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. This would be a progressive tax that would give every American about $10,000 a year. This would get rid of so much "big government" and even some conservatives including Richard Nixon supported it. I would also like to see Single-Payer Health Care enacted. This would cut the confusing for profit insurance beurocracy. I also like John Edward's idea for 1 free year of college education. Another idea I support is public stock ownership. The Swedish Social Democratic Party supported this in the 70's under the Meidner Plan (the idea was originally put forward by reform minded communists in the USSR and social Democrats in Europe) but lost re-election because big business gained up against them. Basically it would take a certain percent of taxes raised by business and give it to unions and citizen groups to invest in businesses to gain ownership in them. Estimates were that within 25 years workers would have over 50% shareholder power in almost every corporation in Sweden.
