2. you know what else I think
Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 10:31 PM by AmandaRuth
The repukes secretly or not so secretly believe the chaos and civil war helps their cause, whatever that may be, because if Iraq was united all the shooting would be directed towards our troops. And however badly they are suffering in the polls now, (and we know that, and greed, are their only motivations), it would be much worse.

Edited because I cannot type when angry.

6. Disingenious...
Didn't vote--seems to be more options for the average RePuke than anyone else

8. Why didn't you vote for an option you wanted?
If anything, "more options" for a side splits that side's vote and has a tendency to favor the side with fewer options.

This was not my intention.

You will see this "splitting the vote" all the time on RW slanted internet polls, they have one option for the wingnut position, and 2 or 3 for the anti wingnut position.

12. Also, this poll doesn't assume that all DUers have the same position on
the Iraq War. There used to be more people who would post defenses of the rationale to go to war etc.

Now you don't see it so much.

So I don't ASSUME that someone who votes "nothing wrong/stay the course" is a RW troll, although I think that is very likely. The fact that they vote that way and then don't post makes it, in my mind, much more likely.

26. Give it Up...
The 'write-in' candidate on your stupid poll speaks volumes

"nothing wrong/stay the course"--funny last time I heard this phrase used was by Murtha about Karl Rove on MTP...

“He’s in New Hampshire. He’s making a political speech. He’s sitting in his air-conditioned office on his big, fat backside, saying “stay the course.” That’s not a plan…"

Murtha couldn't vote in your poll either ;-)

27. Whatever. Do you suggest the poll only allow one viewpoint's answer?
What action do YOU favor on the Iraq war, if any? I voted for the first one.

29. well since you changed it...
to tack on (includes immediate)...

'oh yeah...withdrawal...oh forgot...kinda looks like one of those vote-splitting polls you see on 'RW slanted internet polls', doesn't it...better add a couple of lines before the edit function expires"

That's why I originally wrote--disingenious...as you couldn't possibly miss an OPTION that is arguably supported by nearly 70% of democrats.

13. How about an "OUT NOW" choice ???
as soon as possible is much to vague as is all the ridiculous one year and 18 month timetables ...

all we're doing by remaining is guarding bush's oil wells and making things worse for the Iraqis ...

18. We have lost Iraq
No I am not a defeatist I am an old soldier .I see no plan for Victory I see 80 percent of Iraqi's want us out.I see redeployment of our troops four to five times. I see wounded troops everyday we help them get their rights.I see J.Dennis Hastert stopping the Veterans Bill of Right for the 21st Century because a Democrat wrote it. I see troops being sent back to Iraq on meds. I see the break down of the chain of command with the first MY LAI in Iraq. I see new Humvees that would save life's and limbs sitting not going to Iraq until 2008. And I see Vietnam all over again. No it is past time to leave .Soldier fight for God an Country not GW Bush

21. immediate and unconditional withdrawal!
Dammit if there is nothing more to be accomplished by staying than face-saving and chest-pounding, how can anyone justify staying any longer than it takes for an orderly evacuation?

But now I can't think of any problem that isn't made worse by our continued presence. I vote out; NOW.
