Congressional Hopeful Blames Troubles On The Devil
SALT LAKE CITY Republican congressional hopeful John Jacob believes the devil is impeding his efforts to unseat five-term Representative Chris Cannon.

He says there's another force that wants to keep him from going to Washington and the devil is what it is.

Jacob says that since he decided to run for Congress, Satan has disrupted his business deals, preventing him from putting as much money into the race as he had hoped.

3. Where is the devil camping out these days? I want to talk to him..........
....and find out why he is so lax about working on those neocons already in the White House and Congress. Maybe we can get this devil on our side for once because Jesus/God sure doesn't seem to be doing much these days.

4. It's Utah.
Claiming devil is impeding his efforts will probably work in his favour.

6. The poor fool just hasn't paid his dues to the devil. All he has to do is
go to Washington, fall to his knees for Assistant Devils Cheney and Rove, and lo and behold, funding and a seat in congress just might be his. He must also understand the rituals that he is expected to perform while on his knees.

10. Sadly,
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 08:52 AM by necso
this message will ring true with many of the "faithful", who blame the devil when they misplace their car-keys -- or otherwise screw-up.

And while this may sound bizarre to some of you; it is, unfortunately, how some people view the world -- that they are essentially blameless for their mistakes and failures -- because it's all the devil's doing. ("They've been saved" -- and can do no wrong.)

(A little story to illustrate.)

I was standing in line at the Post Office once, when two church-going ladies (I have nothing against this) in front of me were talking about another member, who having been late to some "religious" retreat, complained that the devil had made him copy down the driving-instructions (from the internet) wrong. Their mutual feeling was that he (the other member) was an idiot, who had screwed-up -- and that the devil had nothing to do with it.

Scary, but hopeful.

19. It IS the devil hindering him! and the devil's name is Karl Rove

Chris Cannon is a repug congressman, who's been one of Bush's point men in the House on the immigration issue, pushing the idea of amnesty for illegal aliens. The anti-immigration nuts think he's a "RINO", and are working hard to get rid of him. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that Rove's minions have been sabotaging poor Mr. Jacobs business deals.

Watching the repugs eat their own is so entertaining. Almost as much fun as the circular firing squad that passes for the Democratic Party.
