MO Senate Race! McCaskill 49% Talent 43%
Among 800 likely voters polled last week, 49 percent supported state Auditor Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, in her quest to replace U.S. Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo. That compared to 43 percent who favored retaining Talent, who has been in office since 2003. The remaining 8 percent were undecided...

In the poll, Ali noted, McCaskill had slightly higher approval ratings - and lower disapproval scores - than Talent did.

But Talent has the cash. His last campaign report, filed in April, showed him with more than twice as much in the bank as McCaskill. President George W. Bush is traveling to St. Louis on Wednesday to help Talent raise even more.

Ali said that a financial advantage could help Talent build up his image, while damaging McCaskill's. But he added that voters' stances on the issues could be a trump card.

2. Right now PA, MT, OH, MO look good RI, VA and TN look possible
For anyone who wants to throw the "but Diebold!" wet blanket on me, I am well aware of Diebold. I am also aware that dems won in VA, NJ, and CA in 05, and plenty of Diebold machines were used. It is an uphill battle, but we can win elections.

4. Seems like MO has been real close the last couple elections
I could see this one being a nailbiter on election night - going either way. Definitely a pickup possibility.

5. We've Got To Really Make A Grassroots Push In Every State.
I know we can do this: Win back Congress. We just have to really put the effort in. We have to be victorious in November.

6. McCaskill is winning points on immigration
Talent likes illegal immigrants for cheap labor and so McCaskill's stance to prosecute businesses who hire illegal immigrants is winning her points. Unfortunately a lot of Republicans are taking a tough on illegals position and thus it's harder to attack them on this.

12. Yesterday the Star using a Zogby poll
put notalent on top by I believe five points, there's not going to be any rest time, we have to push and push talk to all of our indifferent friends, family, neighbors and convince them that this isn't the time to sit on the side.
We can't take anything for granted, not now.
