1. None Of The Above
I've got to contend with Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, who atleast have a D by their name for now

8. Agreed
Too many times, that D is the only thing going for either one of them.

14. Yes, I've Been Greatly Disappointed By Their Responses To My Letters
like when I wrote Blanche about how she shouldn't vote for Medicare Prescription coverage because it was and is a program wrought with problems

Her reply was to the effect "yes, I know it isn't perfect, but it's a start", my father was telling me about a story in the Denver paper today where a man couldn't get his Cancer therapy because he couldn't afford his Rx drugs, whereas he apparently had coverage for it before.

I'm sure there are a lot of stories about that, and that is just one issue.

I also saw on DU recently a survey of how Senators vote with their party and how much, Blanche and Mark voted more with the Republicans than they did with the Democrats.

Blanche is supporting the repeal of the estate tax too.

No millionaire left behind.

Both are DLC up and comers as well, of course Bill Clinton was one of the founders of the DLC

2. These choices suck.
This is like asking, who do you prefer as your President. George W Bush, or Karl Rove?

I would do a write in. I'd rather have Carrot Top as a senator than either of those bozos.

5. At least Chafee represents the TRUE ideals of his party.
Lieberman has abandoned the ideals of the democratic party, so I picked Chafee, about as decent a republican as there is. If Joementum were to put an (R) after his name, I'd respect him more, too.

7. they're both douchebags
But I'd rather have Lieberman. The *only* reason is that he would help us to have a Democratic majority, while Chafee would hinder us.

12. When the GOP allows Lincoln Chafee to vote his conscience...
...his record is very good. Joe Lieberman is lucky that the Dems aren't as strict with him as the Repubs are with Chafee.

13. so I voted for Joe - but it galled me to do so... because I did it based
on party membership and the leadership with whom he would vote - and it galled me because Sen. Lieberman won't indicate the same sort of loyalty to the idea of a dem majority in the senate. His winning - be it as a dem or not, appears to be what is most important to him.

THESE TWO as the only choices?

I hope/trust that you will respond to this post.

26. I'm no fan of Liberman, but ...
Seems to me we could devote more energy to going after Republicans. The amount of energy devoted to ousting Lieberman doesn't seem to be worth it. There are more conservative Democrats than him, but more importantly there are moderate Republicans who when push comes to shove never stand with us on anything. Lieberman at least is good on civil rights, social services, education, and other important issues.

21. Lieberman is the only hope
With Lieberman we have a nominal democrat in office. Without him he get a repub or ind(if lieberman runs independant, he'll win). Take the better of two evils.

24. One's a Democrat. End of poll. Anyone who voted R needs to go home
Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 05:13 AM by jobycom
Well, you're probably already at home, but... The simple fact is that every Democrat adds to our total and brings us closer to controlling the Congress. Anyone who would vote for any Republican over any Democrat needs to not vote. Ever. You don't know how to vote. You are the enemy. Learn how the system works before voting again.

25. Yep
That's my view too. People sometimes go on about their glorious "independence" in voting patterns, but ultimately it's a numbers game...

Lieberman is a jerk and stabs people in the back, but he still votes for Reid as the party leader, not Frist or whichever other douche the repukes will vote for after Frist.
