STEPS TO TAKE TO GET YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO PASS A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING IMPEACHMENT

Numerous cities, counties and states have passed ordinances and resolutions calling for Impeachment of the President. Any local governing body can pass a Resolution for Impeachment – it’s the best way to get your voice heard and bring the matter to a wider audience.

1. Get concerned citizens to sign a petition for impeachment. Good samples of these petitions are found at impeachpac.org/resolutions.
SAMPLE PETITION: http://mhpbooks.com/PetitionTemplate.doc

2. Use the following Ordinance sample to craft your own Ordinance for Impeachment for your town/state.
SAMPLE ORDINANCE: http://mhpbooks.com/SampleTownOrdinance.doc

3. Approach a member of your local government who you know has similar political views. Ask them to introduce the Ordinance to be passed.

SAMPLE LETTER TO INTRODUCE PETITION AND ORDINANCE:

Below is the letter that The Elders for Peace, a group of senior citizens in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, sent to their Town Council requesting that it endorse an Ordinance to impeach President Bush. This letter was accompanied by a petition with the names and addresses of citizens who supported the Ordinance.

Use this letter as a sample for one you can send to you own Town Council. Replace the sections in red with your own information.
