"Houston, We have a problem"
Ok, so I'm not on the moon, but I'm here in ____, ____ USA and I just as well should have been! I've been deprived of the internet since I've moved and am waiting for the God of DSL to turn on my service. So, I have been stuck, like ordinary Americans, watching CNN and Fox news and the rest.

So, just as I got online I discovered this in my email and so I blogged it:

http://www.progressiveu.org/113729-will-timetables-to-leave-iraq-be-set-soon-new-plan-echoes-kerry-and-murthas-solution

Then, I discovered this too:

http://www.progressiveu.org/115507-sheesh-shattered-hopes-on-the-maliki-plan-to-get-out-of-iraq-no-timetable

Great! I thought! So my first article was already old news. But wait...

It occurred to me that I've been cheated out of hearing the old news when it was fresh-breaking news.

THIS is what we're fighting!

I like this action plan that someone posted on one of my threads:

'Republicans Deeply Divided Over Cutting And Running
Did you see this headline?

No, of course you didn't. And you won't. Because this is not part of the narrative that the media has set forth.

According to the media, setting a timetable for Iraq is cutting and running. But apparently, only if you are a Democrat.
(snip)
What are they going to do with the opportunity? It's a simple question for the media: Why is it cutting and running when the Democrats want to set a timetable, but it's phased redeployment when the Republicans do it?

It's a question that every single Democrat in elected office should be asking on every media outlet everywhere.'

The key point that jumped out to me is that the media is controlling the narrative. The the other point that hit home is that if you don't have internet you don't know!!!

So please, let's work together to fight this partison media!

As a famous-courageous comedian said to the media in 04 (something like this): "You're hurting America"!

So let's fight this together!

1. Sorry to hear of you Dial-up dilemma, I have a suggestion.
Do you use a RSS reader?
I know some here will say that the always free FireFox browser has a RSS reader built into it, but I don't really understands how it knows what to download, but you should get an RSS reader like this one:

<http://www.rssreader.com/>

It takes about 5 minutes to learn how to use it. It will automatically update you favorite News feeds, after you set it up.

Check it out, it's free too.

4. do you have to have internet service/provider for that?
That's my problem...I have no internet. I have 1/2 hour to blog and catch up. Then I'm offline till I can get back to the lab again or until they hook me up.

7. Well you have to have some sort of internet connection...
Dial-up or anything faster will work.

If you have a phone line hooked up, I'd get one of those 30 Days free AOL, Earthlink, etc. disks (or you could just download the software), and use that for now.

How long until you get hooked up?

6. A narrative that benefits the owners of the mainstream media
By keeping us ignorant of issues that really are important to us, they (the extraordinary wealthy few) can get society to support their interests, which usually are opposite of society's interests.

8. exactly! While they own the narrative and the dems don't call them
out on it, the majority of non-internet people don't know jack (so to speak).

10. You have to have more than a connection to know
You have to seek out the information, and verify it. That's what's so great about the LBN forum.
