How would you respond to a rw 'friend'-email I got
I asked her if she had become a racist - this was her response:
(I have an idea how I am going to respond to this, but, I would love to hear from some of you -)

I don't know how everybody else feels about it, but to me I
think Hispanic people in this country, legally or illegally,
made a huge public relations mistake with their recent demonstrations.
I don't blame anybody in the world for wanting to come to the
United States of America, as it is a truly wonderful place.

But when the first thing you do when you set foot on American
soil is illegal it is flat out wrong and I don't care how many
lala land left heads come out of the woodwork and start trying
to give me sensitivity lessons.

I don't need sensitivity lessons, in fact I don't have any-
thing against Mexicans! I just have something against criminals
and anybody who comes into this country illegally is a criminal
and if you don't believe it try coming into America from a
foreign country without a passport and see how far you get.
What disturbs me about the demonstrations is that it's tanta-
mount to saying, "I am going to come into your country even if
it means breaking your laws and there's nothing you can do
about it."

It's an "in your face" action and speaking just for me I don't
like it one little bit and if there were a half dozen pairs of
gonads in Washington bigger than English peas it wouldn't be
happening.

Where are you, you bunch of lily livered, pantywaist, forked
tongued, sorry excuses for defenders of The Constitution? Have
you been drinking the water out of the Potomac again?
And even if you pass a bill on immigration it will probably be
so pork laden and watered down that it won't mean anything any-
way. Besides, what good is another law going to do when you
won't enforce the ones on the books now?

And what ever happened to the polls, guys? I thought you folks
were the quintessential finger wetters. Well you sure ain't
paying any attention to the polls this time because somewhere
around eighty percent of Americans want something done about
this mess, and mess it is and getting bigger everyday.

This is no longer a problem, it is a dilemma and headed for
being a tragedy. Do you honestly think that what happened in
France with the Muslims can't happen here when the businesses
who hire these people finally run out of jobs and a few million
disillusioned Hispanics take to the streets?

If you, Mr. President, Congressmen and Senators, knuckle under
on this and refuse to do something meaningful it means that you
care nothing for the kind of country your children and grand-
children will inherit.
But I guess that doesn't matter as long as you get re-elected.
Shame on you.

One of the big problems in America today is that if you have
the nerve to say anything derogatory about any group of people
(except Christians) you are going to be screamed at by the media
and called a racist, a bigot and anything else they can think
of to call you.

Well I've been pounded by the media before and I'm still rockin'
and rollin' and when it comes to speaking the truth I fear not.
And the truth is that the gutless, gonadless, milksop politicians
are just about to sell out the United States of America because
they don't have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the face
reality.

And reality is that we would never allow any other group of
people to have 12 million illegal in this country and turn
around and say, "Oh it's ok, ya'll can stay here if you'll just
allow us to slap your wrist."

And I know that some of you who read this column are saying
"Well what's wrong with that?"
I'll tell you what's wrong with it. These people could be from
Mars as far as we know. We don't know who they are, where they
are or what they're up to and the way the Congress is going
we're not going to.

Does this make sense? Labor force you say? We already subsidize
corporate agriculture as it is, must we subsidize their labor
as well?
If these people were from Haiti would we be so fast to turn a
blind eye to them or if they were from Somalia or Afghanistan?
I think not.

All the media shows us are pictures of hard working Hispanics
who have crossed the border just to try to better their life.
They don't show you pictures of the Feds rounding up members of
MS 13, the violent gang who came across the same way the decent
folks did. They don't tell you about the living conditions of
the Mexican illegal some fat cat hired to pick his crop.

I want to make two predictions.

No. 1: This situation is going to grow and fester until it
erupts in violence on our streets while the wimps in Washington
drag their toes in the dirt and try to figure how many tons of
political hay they can make to the acre.

No 2: Somebody is going to cross that border with some kind
of weapon of mass destruction and set it off in a major American
city after which there will be a backlash such as this country has
never experienced and the Capitol building in Washington will
probably tilt as Congressmen and Senators rush to the other side of the issue.
I don't know about you but I would love to see just one major
politician stand up and say, "I don't care who I make mad and
I don't care how many votes I lose, this is a desperate situation
and I'm going to lead the fight to get it straightened out."
I don't blame anybody for wanting to come to America, but if
you don't respect our immigration laws why should you respect any others.
And by the way, this is America and our flag has stars and
stripes. Please get that other one out of my face.

Pray for our troops
God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

got a weird sense of criminals and justice. And when Charlie learns to master English , it will be a benefit to all. That being said, I guess we all are entitled to our opinion.

7. I'd tell her "I don't listen to people who take the Lord's name in vain,
like that drug-abusing, Christ-hating heathen Charlie Daniels."

"Where are you, you bunch of lily livered, pantywaist, forked tongued, sorry excuses for defenders of The Constitution" - Ok, Mr. über-patriot, how come you aren't fighting in Iraq? No excuse for age or excess lard!

Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 04:39 PM by coalition_unwilling
I actually publicly dis-avowed some people I had thought of as "friends " over invasion of Iraq. I don't regret it for a second, although my circle of friends has shrunken down to just a few now.

18. I have lost friends and family over it also.
http://www.thirdreich.net/Thought_They_Were_Free.html

"But your friends are fewer now. Some have drifted off somewhere or submerged themselves in their work. You no longer see as many as you did at meetings or gatherings. Informal groups become smaller; attendance drops off in little organizations, and the organizations themselves wither. Now, in small gatherings of your oldest friends, you feel that you are talking to yourselves, that you are isolated from the reality of things. This weakens your confidence still further and serves as a further deterrent to – to what? It is clearer all the time that, if you are going to do anything, you must make an occasion to do it, and then you are obviously a troublemaker. So you wait, and you wait.

"But the one great shocking occasion, when tens or hundreds or thousands will join with you, never comes. That's the difficulty. If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and the smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked – if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in "43" had come immediately after the "German Firm" stickers on the windows of non-Jewish shops in "33". But of course this isn't the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D.

"And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying "Jew swine," collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in – your nation, your people – is not the world you were in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way.

"You have gone almost all the way yourself. Life is a continuing process, a flow, not a succession of acts and events at all. It has flowed to a new level, carrying you with it, without any effort on your part. On this new level you live, you have been living more comfortably every day, with new morals, new principles. You have accepted things you would not have accepted five years ago, a year ago, things that your father, even in Germany, could not have imagined.

26. Thank you for the wonderful passage. The weird thing is
that it took something like a fraudulent war to make clear the fact that we really weren't friends at all, only acquaintances whose interests briefly coincided.

28. My father and I have been having a long drawn-out colloquy
over whether * is a "fascist." My Dad says he's not, simply a plutocrat, I say he is and that Repukes are fascists by just about any measure of fascism. (See Paxton's "Anatomy of Fascism" for a good definition of the movement.)

Fortunately, my Dad and I are still talking to one another, as it doesn't seem worth it to me to cut people off because they don't think * is a fascist.

13. First, there aren't 12 million 'illegal' Mexicans in the country. Only 40
to 50% are from Mexico. Second, about 50% of those entered the US legally on vistas and then decided to stay...they did not sneak across the border. Third, I'm willing to bet, based on observation, that the person who sent you this hasn't broken a law or two within the last week. I estimate that 97% of American drivers violate speed limits, stop signs, or red lights on any given day.
The only sensible thing to do is to stop making the hiring of undocumented workers painful. Wonder if Charlie Daniels will give up his gardener.
