Well, they've changed the subject again.
At the end of last week we had a huge disconnect between the Repubs in Congress and the government of Iraq. The Iraqi prime minister agreeing with the Kerry/Feingold amendment--a timetable to withdraw troops from Iraq. What to do, what to do?

Then the NYT discloses info on banking surveillance, offering a perfect opportinity to distract: * rolls out an attack on the media--perfect solution! :sarcasm:

It's always one or more of these three: Deny, Discredit, Distract.

the General Casey story. Please.. NYTimes is doing a good job at this point.

Don't stir the pot and confuse the issues. NYTimes was in discussion with WH for months over the disclosures. If there is any timing.. it is because WH stopped the discussions when it was convenient.

2. Distractions from distractions or just more scandals?

One of these mornings I expect to wake up and see these three competing headlines:

Bush Declares Preemptive War on the World: Puts U.S. Nuclear Forces on Highest Alert

Wall Street Downgrades U.S. Treasuries to Junk Rating

President Declares Bush Family Are Secret Followers of Hitler: Polls Show Slight Approval Drop

Which would be the distraction?
