Poll question: Lou Dobbs: love him or hate him?
I guess you know my position. I love him. For instance, today he just had a very serious segment on global warming. Immediately followed by another segment, about the 6th or 7th (I can't keep up with all he's doing in this area), on e-voting fraud.

2. I have heard some real racist stuff from this guy.
The last time I bothered to listen to him was not during the immigration brouhaha by the way. It was during Katrina.

culture and way of life, at least telling them who to blame for it. And how dare any non-WASP try to conduct business or get ahead in life, "good ole Lou" will be there to slam that foot down on them. Remember the Dubai Ports World deal, I'm sure he started every show with something to the effect of "We ain't having no arabs doing no business here," and that there should be Congressional review before any contract is awarded to a non-WASP.

on edit

I forgot, but of course it's all done in "THA NAME OF THA MIDDLE CLASS"

I love the way he gets the conservatives all tongue tied; however, I feel that he could have done a better job on Ann Coulter!:eyes:

8. Trust me, it was bad
It was such a googly-eyed love-fest I was tempted to send them a pitcher of martini's and carton of Lucky's so they could end the evening in the correct fashion.

14. I emailed Lou after the Coulter lovefest
Stated that although I had previously enjoyed his nightly news program and forgave the occasional racist tinge his reporting took on, that his embrace of the odious hateful skank was beyond the pale. I can't watch him now without seeing his sheeps eyes and lovesick demeanor toward her. Bleccchhhh.

28. Lou appeals to both Conservatives and Liberals
as such, if he destroyed Ann Coulter the way we would have liked, he would have alienated a large segment of his viewing audience and would have, thus, potentially, diminished his ability to get the message out. I agree that he missed several opportunities to crush Coulter though and I wrote him a letter afterwards outlining what I would have said (especially concerning her need for body guards on college campuses and her own hypocritical exploitation of 9-11 victims for personal gain)

6. Lou Dobbs is one of the few
TV personalities that is speaking up for AMERICANS! I don't care what his politics are or have been in the past, he is now speaking out regarding numerous issues.... electronic voting, the middle class, immigration, this administration, port security, etc etc. I love him.

7. Voted "other"
He is not a democrat, and has never represented that he is. But, for CNN, he is the only talking head that has had the courage to address controversial subjects without use of the RW "talking points".

I loved his series on "Outsourcing America" as I was (and still am) impacted by this practice. But, after the 2004 election, when I was so devastated at the results, his very first show after that abomination talked about Bush's "mandate" in a positive light.

I stopped watching him after that (after sending him an email letting him know in anything but gentle terms that he was wrong).

Now, however, it seems to me that he is finally willing to look at voter fraud.

How many other "talking heads", aside from KOB, are willing to look at this extremely important issue?

because conservatives can be rational on some subjects -- and we might appear to have some agreements on the surface -- we are from different planets and political enemies.

10. Surprise Fucking Surprise
The Gop is WAY behind in the polls and their phony man of the people is talking machine fraud.

And the dem chumps eat it up.

When we sweep in the fall will those of you screaming the loudest for the past two years join the pukes in the streets based on the same garbage evidence being touted now?

Some days he is dead on and says things that the Dems should be saying everyday. Other days, like his interview with Coulter, is have to turn him off.

15. Dobbs is the best commentator on television
I think he's the best commentator on television. He opposes almost every position of the Bush dictatorship. This includes not just economic issues, but civil liberties issues as well.

He's offended enough of the NeoCon-Artist Corporatocracy that his show has been removed from its 8PM prime time spot on the West Coast. Thus, 1/8th of this country's population can now longer view his show except at 3PM in the afternoon, or at 1AM at night.

It seems pretty clear this move was designed to remove his voice and opinions from the prime time spot where most working Americans would be able to see him. There's no doubt in my mind this was done so that his "dangerous" anti-Bush populist commentary wouldn't do damage to Corporate America's reputation.

CNN has replaced his 8PM spot with Anderson Cooper's 360, which is far less critical of the Bush dictatorship's big money friends.

18. Thank you!
Dobbs is the bushistas worst enemy: a conservative turned populist agitator. I didn't see the Coulter segment, but even if it was as bad as portrayed, that alone wouldn't negate his stances against the cabal and for Democracy.

22. Tonight's segments were fantastic.
He did a great job with both of those issues.
Lambasting congress for handing out billions to oil companies to fund "alternative energy" -- said that the money should have been given to seed alternative energy programs (at other companies, not the oil companies).

Wanted to know whether there was any hope that the planet could recover...the guest used that as a lead-in to point out that the US produces 25% of the world's greenhouse gases. Said it wasn't a partisan issue, should be an issue for all of us to care about.

The election discussion was awesome. He got the point across as clearly as a DUer election person might have. How crazy it was that machines would be kept in people's homes. Said that paper ballots were clearly the only way.

24. Excellent expose on Voting Machines
That was the most detailed television expose of the voting machine scam that I've seen.

Lou doesn't always get the credit he deserves for defending civil liberties issues.

26. Me Too
If House and Senate Republicans would do the same amount of thinking that Dobbs does, instead of voting in lock-step with their leadership, this country would not be in the pitiful shape it's in at present.

27. Love him-absolutely
I disagree that he is a racist also. It's natural/typical for many hispanics to assume that anyone who proposes enforcing immigration laws is racist but, the fact is, it's an American issue that happens to involve two races. What'sore, I don't think he's a Republican either. If anything, I think he's a moderately conservative Democrat. His loathing of the corporatist fascists is priceless IMO and I'll overlook any minor character flaws for that alone.
